As an Atlanta Braves fan, I think I can speak for most of the Braves nation, we Atlanta fans we always rooted for Jason, being a local kid . We followed his Minor League career and was excited to see him in the majors. Go back and look at his first major league at bat! It’s hard to talk that. But much love for Jason.
@David99356Ай бұрын
Exactly. We loved him and it was gut wrenching to trade him, but though his defense was stellar as usual, his offensive numbers just couldn’t justify having him on the roster. But he is a great guy, and I will always remember how instrumental he was in getting the cubs their first World Series win in 100 years.

Heyward has done this to the Mariners twice in 5 weeks’ time! On 8/20/24, Dodgers tied w/ Mariners - 8th inning Heyward pinch-hit a 3-run HR in what would be his last at-bat w/ Dodgers (won 6-3 over Mariners)! - Dave Roberts likely recalling Heyward’s 9th inning pinch-hit Grand Slam on 6/18/24 to lead Dodgers in 7-run rally against the Rockies (won 11-9 over Rockies)! In 2023, .269 batting avg. 15 HR and .813 OPS w/ Dodgers; won 5 Gold Gloves w/ Braves & Cubs; won 2016 WS w/ Cubs …so much fun to watch Jason Heyward dazzle us in outfield and get clutch hits w/ Astros!! [Note: 2024 missed 40 games April/May “back tightness” and 11 games July “left knee bruise”]

I wouldn't exactly call 397ft with 105 exit velocity a "bomb" for a MLB hitter. Guys like my Salvy Perez and Bobby Witt Jr. for my beloved Royals, and of course guys like Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton for the Yanks regularly hit home runs well over 450ft with exit velocities often topping 110, and occasionally even heading over 115-118 mph. Oh, and Ohtani makes 460 ft home runs with 118 mph exit velo seem routine. So yeah, no offense, but yeah, 397 feet us hardly even a home run at Kauffman stadium and 105 exit velo is average for the guys i just mentioned, ie Salvy, Witt, Judge, Stanton, and Ohtani.
