We should all be thankful that this master of music was so focused on transmitting the craft to the future.

Isn't this a clavichord? A harpsichord has two keyboards

@@mihajlopetkovic388a clavichord has a vastly different sound to a harpsichord. The one that has a muted sound is the clavichord whereas the other one with the two keyboards has a much clearer sound is the harpsichord.

The inventions, small preludes, both WTC volumes and a great deal of other Bach's keyboard pieces fit into 4 octaves, making them playable on any instrument and revelaing that JSB was primarily an organist, as this was the standard compass of an organ manual of his time. His son CPE, as a cembalist, always used a broader cembalo range.

Where's the passion? Where's the drive? The wig, the candelabrum, the sense of theatre, the fun? Instead it's this boring nothing backdrop to _technical_ music. Whenever I go to these things they give long overwrought introductions to the musicians and to every piece, and then demand gratuitous applause before, after, and maybe a second time after. It all saps the life and soul and interest out of music.
