Brilliant work James, appreciate the info, and it’s reassuring to know that using the engine off and coast into the pit box is a time saver, been using this with my mates recently and also selecting the next driver at the start of the stint, also helps to save time and avoid errors. Been watching through this series to get even quicker (I'm also a McLaren main xD). Just a couple of additions form knowledge and experience from me on topics in this video: 1. Solving understeer with more steering. As James said, this will NOT solve your problem. Increasing your steering increases what's known as a slip angle. Tyres will provide certain levels of grip at certain slip angles, and you don't want to fall off that 'cliff'. Good for generating tyre surface temperature on formation laps, but not in a race. 2. Damage repair. I haven't done endurance races in ACC, so I can only speak for sprint races (I've done loads of 45-min races). If youve got less than 5s, DO NOT repair it, there's no point. Any more, see how the car is driving. If you're comfy with the car or your lap times aren't suffering, don't bother. If it's hurting you and you haven't made a mandatory stop, you might as well. Keep in mind that track position may be more important than outright pace. Awesome work James, can't wait to catch up on the rest of the series!

Hey Rocket 🚀 So , how many of these series are going to be here m8.? Plus is there a Step by step guide video that explains everything there is about every setting in tunning the car.? As i MOSTLY just copy what i can find on YT and then test the setups for couple laps, but lets say is i need a solid set-up for an 3h endurance race then the hotlap set-up of course is no use. But yeah I'm really struggling to understand the setup part and how can i feel what i have tuned on the road ,so i would know what im doing etc... Good Content as always burdy. Keep up the vids coming. And you should stream lives when you race at AOR os TSG or something. Would be great to watch what you do and study that.

Hi James. Thanks so much for another great ACC video in this series. It was excellent! I was sad to see you get a penalty at the GT World Esports race at Oulton Park afterwards. You should have got the win IMHO. I had a quick question for you. The commentators after the race said the top 3 finishers in each class will have ballast added to their cars for the next race. Why do they do this and where is this adding ballast penalty in the GT World Esports rules (which I cannot find)? Please let me k now your thoughts on this, thanks.

James I took a look at your MoTeC i2 Pro workbook. While some parts show inspiration (e.g. rake angle) I find that it could use some refinement to hone it to a very useable tool. I suggest you read Jorge's book: Segers, J. (2014). Analysis techniques for racecar data acquisition (Second edition.). SAE International. I used the techniques discussed in this book to make my workbook for real life & ACC. I use this (harsh) mantra when working with data: "Data and/or video that does not lead to actionable change is worthless". In real life I have a time allotment of 10 minutes to do data analysis. I have honed my MoTeC workbook to a fine tool to be able to gain the insight I need in 6 minutes of looking at data, and 4 minutes of looking at video (line analysis). This gives me the one or two things to act on in the next session. Reply if you would like to continue the discussion.

Not a race driver here but have done quite a few track days on bike. Tyre degradation is damage and premature wear. Tearing, hot spots for example physical damage to tyres surface. Wear is usually just that. Nice and even. Uniform across the tyres surface. Hope this helps. That's my understanding anyway. Maybe someone has better information about it.

How is it when you have a mandatory pit stop within a pit window and you have to change from dry to wet tyres before that window? Will you need to do another pit stop or does the change of condition override the pit window rule?

Just started acc for ps5. This is my first actual sim racer and I got my first cockpit setup for it. I cannot seem to get less than 2 mins on the career mode in the first test on Monza. Is the career a good place to start or should I just keep doing practice and then take it online and return to career once I'm more knowledgeable and can drive more than 1 car well? 😂💀 P.S my exact best time is 2:02.733

Hi, great video. I just have a question. What is the ratio °C/psi change. If I have optimal psi for 30°C how much psi I have to adjust to 36°C track?

It works better looking at ambient temp change. Roughly every degree of ambient temp add or remove 0.08 psi. So 10 degree amb change would be approx 0.8 psi change
