It would be a good idea for you to edit the sub-titles of this video. If someone is watching with the sub-titles turned on they will find it quite confusing to hear words that don't match up to the sub-titles.

Professor Jack is really less categorical and more resonable; I think what we should retain as he says in this video is the notion of task, not the task-based framework asit is set up by Willis, Ellis, Skehan,Long. Tasks should be manipulated in different ways depending on the capacities , needs , and other cultural or societal variables of both the teacher and the learner.

I was in the Matrix, popcorn in hand...waiting for Neo...then heard something about "mask-based teaching." Interesting...I, too, often must conceal my true frustration with students.

This is typical bait-and-switch. It's called 'Task-Based' and it starts by contrasting to the 'old , nasty' grammar presentations, but as the spiel wears on, it becomes watered down and eventually it 'aint task-based at all. It is just using tasks to elicit information about students' needs, something all teachers have done since day one. I respect that Jack points out the taxing nature of it for teachers. Reality, this kind of technique is unconscuiously and arbitrarily employed in language teaching. Don't be fooled by the 'Task-Based' brand name and it's 'newness'
