Got my choice of several hold-backs recently. It was a tough decision as Magnus Cigar Malt, Midwinter Night's Dram, Handy Rye, Four Roses Cask Strength were all in the offering. I chose the Coy Hill because of your review, the fact that I've had previous editions of all the above and that the bottle cost me only $70. including tax. I fully agree with your review. I finally found a bottle of JD SB BP, mine is 128 proof. After looking for it for about 3 months I ran across it close to home gave 55$ for it. Everyone has been correct that it doesn't taste like regular JD. I'm not a big JD fan but I really like this bottle of JD. Now to find the Coy.

I live in WV and called just about every liquor store in the state. I don't think it has made it here yet. Time is running out probably with only 27,000 made :( I wish I knew were to drive and get it also. Everyone online says out of stocks and alot of scams out there also.

Secondary is helped by the words limited, rare etc. at 27,000 bottles there is more than some other releases and may be more available than other releases. Never thought two releases this year that have high secondary ROI would be from Jack but here we are. No slowing of the secondary train

Certainly, time to put Jack Daniels limited releases right up there with the likes of the BTAC series, and other unicorn bottles. I haven't been this impressed with a distillery in many years that consistently puts out incredible barrels.

Have a thought that I can't get rid of. Hopefully, you all can encourage or disway me. If this is from the highest point in the rickhouse and a result of the water leaving the barrel and causing the ABV to elevate. Why can't I replicate this in my 95 to 100 degree garage by placing a few bottles of the JD Single Barrel, Barrel Proof in an aging barrel? Thoughts anyone?

Damn you. You made me want this. On the value, I pay $300 for Old Carter because it is not available in my state. I paid $300 for Kentucky Owl Batch 9, King of Kentucky is $250 MSRP, so it seems like the value here is at least $250. Value is a lot more difficult to assess than overall quality. I'm not paying secondary on this, so if I find it, it will be for $70.
