Being a Sinatra fan and a whiskey drinker, my wife surprised me with this bottle for my 39th birthday, but with the caveat that I couldn't drink it until my 40th birthday. I really enjoyed it and shared it among many, but have yet to buy another bottle in the past three years simply because the price isn't quite worth it for the taste.

I’m glad this review was done. My first whiskey was ol no.7, then the second being double black walker, then the Sinatra select as my third & I was sold to whiskey ever since. Not the best whiskey in the world, but got me interested in the manufacturing process/experience that whiskey brings. Great episode

Not sure how many times I've been through the Jack Daniel's Distillery, but the first time was in 1976 or 77 and since then I've been there every year for a while then every other year. I lived in the area and have now , moved 11 hours away, but will take my son there for sure. I love Single Barrel and am a fan of Gentleman jack. Old No. 7 not so much, but have been wanting to try the Sinatra, but of course was concerned about the price (y) bottle. Reckon I will just stick with the single barrel. Keep up the good work guys, love this channel. Paladin of Whisky has my vote.

JD Sinatra has a special barrel with 1/4 notches grooved into the barrel in circles all the way down the insides before firing. This greatly increases surface area for whiskey to penetrate the wood and gives the deeper flavor. Got a bottle last year when I took the tour.

Whether my inner snob wants to admit it or not, Jack Daniel's was the first whisk(e)y I ever tried. Long before I ever knew anything about anything, and consumed with coke. It was my gateway to all things bourbon and scotch! And you know what? I still have a soft spot for it! Jack and Coke on a hot summer evening... nothing to complain about there!
@jwalkblue75 жыл бұрын
GreenMantaray we all started somewhere. I remember drinking American Honey in high school and appreciating the small amount of bourbon kick at the end. Maker’s was the first bourbon that I really enjoyed and Knob Creek & Coke was my go to for a couple of years. Now I’m working on a bottle of Ocean Aged Cask Strength and my personal favorite, Booker’s (still love that Knob Creek profile). It’s all about the journey man.

I feel like since Jack Daniels went to a lower 80 proof and from 4 years to 2, the craftsmen that work there have urges that need to be fed to make good whiskey. Most people steer towards the single barrels and releases like the Gold and the Sinatra are more of what they probably prefer to make. Sure Old no.7 pays the bills, but it's a mixer to most. How about that Heritage Barrel? Only 200 barrels made. Impossible to find and are being sold on Ebay for $250-$350. It won 2nd best whiskey of the year last year on Whiskey Advocate, and for good reason. For those unfamiliar, it was barreled at a lower proof and the barrels were slow charred to give it a much different, smoother, toasty flavor. It was also stored in a specific spot in their highest altitude warehouse. Have you guys reviewed that? I bought 6 bottles. 1 at retail $60, 2 at $75, 2 at $70 and one at $80. I drank one, traded another for a Weller 12 to a liquor store and am currently sitting on 4. @818BUDS on IG
