I'm no actor, but even if I was, I don't know that I would be able to do the things Huston did to bring that character to life. More importantly, I don't know if I would. Seems like being so immersed in a character can result in some carryover to your real life that may not be pleasant.

Bless him 🙏❤️ I have OCD and sometimes experience facial tics. The director was a genius getting him to go full speed then try and pull it back. Because with tics, the more you think about them/ try to suppress them, the more they go wild. I remember being at the dinner table and scrunching my eye repeatedly. It wasn’t until my mother said ‘’have you got something in your eye’’ that I even realized I was doing it. I suddenly felt the spotlight on me, so flusteredly I said ‘’uhhh...... yeah’’.

I fully respect this actor. He went into the idea of acting out OCD not just based on what people say it is, but for what it truly is. I'm 28, I've had it since I was 8, and only started getting therapy on my own volition at the age of 18 (funny, lots of 8's there). It truly is hell. The idea of putting it all forward then pulling back and pretending you don't have it is so real. So painfully real. Because the moment you let it out you're never looked at the same. And yeah, door frames. Always get me. Gotta knock 12 times x3 in a specific way. Better than I was a few years back.
