After watching the John Farnham documentary a couple of days ago, that just brought a tear to my eye. Thank you Irwin. Peace... ✌

John really loved every member of his band and the band loved him in return as you will notice most of his band stayed with him throughout the decades. A big hand to all of them and thanks for the endless coverage of John and all the Australian artists you have covered. Jack is an accomplished artist in his own right, his rendition of Burn for you, was heartfelt ❤️🙏

Irwin Thomas aka Jack Jones, is such amazing talent. You can see him play guitar for John Farnham in “That’s Freedom”. This was Irwin singing it “for John” when we heard that John was battling cancer. You can hear the love he has from what he says, AND what he struggles to say! God bless both of them! I sat 5m from Irwin at a gig and suffered sensory overload. I was watching everything he did on guitar (he is an amazing guitarist) AND listened to his amazing voice. I was exhausted as a listener! Simply amazing talent.

I saw Jack Jones live at the old Grainstore in Melbourne a few times many, many years ago, when he was with Southern Sons. I thought his voice back then was amazing. I love hearing his beautiful voice again, which is even more amazing with maturity. Thank you for playing this....tears welled up as I thought of both Jack & John (many concerts of John's Ive seen, too) Such lovely, lovely memories drifting sweetly by.....

The Grainstore was my favourite venue in Melbourne for seeing the best musicians. Used to see Loose Change and Southern Sons every week when they were playing. Really miss it.

We were at one of John’s concerts when Jack was in the band and John joked that someone said because they were so alike vocally that he could be John’s love child

Saw this show. It was amazing for 2 hours. Unbelievable. This was his vocal quality at the *end* of two hours of singing. Quality act.

Beautiful tribute to John...this is the first time I have seen this. Yes there are times that his vocal sounds a bit like John but Irwin's voice is every bit as unique to himself as well.

Wow, this version of Burn for you is amazing. Irwin has a similar voice to John, but you can tell this is Irwin, not John. He’s put his own spin on it and it’s really beautiful. I’ve been a fan of Irwin since back in the Jack Jones days and he just keeps getting better. Thank you Irwin for such a beautiful tribute to your mate. John Farnham.♥️

Southern Sons & 1927, two of the best Aussie groups ever. Grew up on them in my teens. The funny thing was never a huge John fan, lol . But I loved his personality & wrote some beautiful songs 💙

Haha funny you say that. I was a huge fan of those to bands as a young girl. But my mum was a huge Farnham fan. I remember seeing Jack at a Farnham concert and I absolutely fell in love that day ❤

Irwin always sounded like John, and I guess he learned a thing or two from the man himself while playing with John and the band all those years. Beautiful tribute from Irwin to John.

Even as a kid, I always thought Jack Jones sounded like a protégé of John Farnham, The Master. You should check out his other stuff with his group The Southern Sons.

I've always thought Jack Jones sung like John Farnham. I think @ one stage he may well have been in John's band as a back up singer.
@heidiherfoss32723 ай бұрын
He played guitar in Farnhams band and also toured with them as Southern Sons was Farnhams supporting act before him coming on stage for his concerts. John, back in the day used to see him like his own son.

Just realised, 6:20 on wrap up there you are on a thumb nail in the middle of your computers screen pointing at the camera almost exactly like you are in the video. Must be an older one before you got your KZbin Award.

Love you to bits but could you please stop referring to JF when reacting to Jack/Irwin. I know it’s unavoidable with this song but in future. Pretty please. He doesn’t put himself in the same class and is uncomfortable with it. Love both performers.

Agreed he fought for years to be taken seriously on his own right and not be compared to John or worse thought of as copying John. 2 different people and they have 2 different styles
@helenpinchen4712 Жыл бұрын
@@Lea-bw9wj this interview is great for understanding the pressure a young man was under due to the comparison. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZfTYXxuf5igi6c I’m sure he’s made his peace with it now but he’s so good in his own right that I just get disheartened when I see the constant comparisons as well intentioned as they may be.🌼

@@Lea-bw9wj100% agree. Irwin has his own style and is a great vocalist in his own right. There are times when his voice has some similarities to John but I love his voice for what it is.
