One of my favorite games on the C64. Also hard to complete without trainer.
@CheekyCommodoreGamer21 сағат бұрын
Yeah it's tough as nails without a 'helping hand'. Thats what I love about about a lot of the crack versions of these games, as they usually have in-built game trainers... which I know is cheating, but allows me to get much further into the game than I would normally be able to for the sake of the videos 😇🕹️👌

Got most of my C64 games from the real Just Micro in Sheffield! Great software house Gremlin. 😉

Nice one! I'm actually a little jealous about that hehe - would have been a dream to have been there back in the day at good ole Alpha House, Carver Street 😇🕹️👌

I still have both of JACK THE NIPPER games for my Commodore 64 in both 10 GREAT GAMES I (loose, tape) and II (CiB, tape) 😹👍🕹️. The original JACK THE NIPPER is absolutely a legendary classic game 😺👍🕹️. Ben Daglish even plays the excellent soundtracks 🎵🎶 😺👍. JACK THE NIPPER II is not as brilliant as the original first one, but it is enjoyable 😸😺👍🕹️. Even the background graphics are amazing. And Ben Daglish composed - once again - a brilliant soundtrack 🎵🎶 😺👍🕹️. Once again, a big retrospective like 🕹️ from Vantaa, Finland 🇫🇮 😺👍.

Superb games in their own right and, like you say, the brilliant late Ben Daglish doing the honours on the music 😇🕹️👌

I never played this one, but I loved the first game. I didn't know what the goal with it was, but I just enjoyed doing shenanigans in it. Adding this one to my list of stuff to play. Also: A Happy new year to you and yours. Keep up the good work. This channel is very important. I am not sure if you realize it, but it is. Your efforts are greatly appreciated.

Happy New Year bud, much appreciated - got a long long way to go, but I just feel that these games (good or bad) need to be documented, from those of us who actually lived through it. Great memories, in each and every one of these classic titles 😇🕹️👌

Never played the original, but I did play this sequel. Found it quite good and entertaining. Not a favorite, but I really liked the jungle theme and more lighthearted Rick Dangerous style platforming action.

Definitely has that 'Rick Dangerous' vibe to it 😇🕹️👌

Game was decent enough (graphics, controls ...) but of course didn't have anything to do with Jack the Nipper. Word on the net is that Gremlin simply repurposed some jungle adventure they were making, by replacing main character (some kind of Tarzan caveman ) with something that looks like a baby. They added naughtyometer but nothing much else, even the end goal remains the same : to reach some kind of jungle temple. Idea was simply to cash in on the success of the first Jack the Nipper that was released barely year earlier. As you may have guessed, whole development team was different, only main production manager (Greg A. Holmes) remained the same.

The game looks like a similar engine to Future Knight also from Gremlin.

Yeah that was all down to the graphics of Terry Lloyd, who also did the graphics for the Rick Dangerous games 😇🕹️👌

@CheekyCommodoreGamer11 сағат бұрын
Absolutely, 'Jack the Nipper 2' is a cracker of a game! Nice graphics, a touch of chaos, and just enough mischief to keep you hooked. Good luck beating it-just remember, even Jack had to start small before wreaking maximum mayhem! 😇🕹️👌

I used to play this quite a bit... but I'd always get lost. Fun game regardless. I never did play the first one and I've been meaning to.
@CheekyCommodoreGamer21 сағат бұрын
Yeah it's a very decent game, tough in places. The first one was more of a run around, cause havoc etc... whereas this sequel reminds me of a sort of 'Rick Dangerous' type escapade 😇🕹️👌
@pjcnet8 сағат бұрын
A totally different game in it's own right and not a bad one, it's just that people who enjoyed Jack the Nipper expected more of the same with the sequel leaving some disappointed. Would had been better to use a different main character and not call it Jack the Nipper II at all in my opinion.

It was a bit impenetrable as I remember it. My friends and I tried to figure it out but never got too many of the naughty actions. I don’t remember any hints at all coming with this one honestly.

Ah yes, the legendary Amigo 700-powered by hamsters on tiny treadmills, wasn’t it? Good on it indeed! I hear it was so advanced, it came with a built-in coconut for galloping sound effects. Truly a marvel of medieval engineering

Ooh, the Amstsard 48 and the Specci 64, is it? Well, of course they’ve got better 'grafics and sounds kipperbiltys'! I hear they’ve even added a button that makes tea and insults your neighbour! But I’ll stick with my Commodore 64, thank you very much-it’s got twice the sprites and only half the kippers, which is just how I like it. Now, fetch me a shrubbery!
