This is the first time I actually want to play a sword and shield hero. That demo looked so good with the elven warrior and the idea of mixing magic with all classes is such a cool gameplay and lore idea. Going to give each class a go finally!

I’m always a warrior, not just in Dragon age in every fantasy rpg I’ve ever played I’m always a guy with a big sword charging to kill enemies, it’s just a personal quirk of wanting to charge forth and rampage. Though I will occasionally sneak in some magic to my swordsman to spice things up.

This will be my 4th game playing Rogue but this time I'm making a dark-skinned dwarf with dreadlocks hopefully if they have it in game. He's going to be dual-wielding, part of the Lords Of Fortune and romance Lace Harding which they honestly should have let you do last game instead of just flirt with her. Hopefully I can set up my Rook and her to have some nice little dwarven babies once our adventures conclude in Thedas

Each game in the series has had a class/build that I liked more than the other two. In Origins it was Dwarf Cunning Daggers Rogue, in Exodus it’s Two-handed Warrior, and in Inquisition it was Elven Knight Enchanter. I’m having a hard time choosing between Reaper and Veil Ranger for this game tho…

I am choosing Rogue for my let's play on my channel but I also know that offline, I will start at least two to three more characters because that's just how I play these games. I do it with BG3, Skyrim, Dragon Age, etc. I can't help it. So many choices to make and so many options. How can I not? 🥰

My first playthrough I think I'm going to be a Dwarf Grey Warden Warrior and going reaper build. I think it reflects an attitude of Sacrifice that fits the Warden's.

All of them look good. Hard choice. I have a feeling once you are in game you might rethink your choice after some encounters. Thankfully they seem to make it easy to change things as you wish. I wanted an Elven mage of some sort, but I'm starting to think perhaps a Qunari warrior with sword and shield. This game looks like it will be better on controller rather than KB/M. I don't have a very specific and detailed description of what I'm going to do. I'll figure it out along the way.

It's nice to see a video and comment section that isn't just shitting on the game because it's BioWare and/or because it doesn't look like DA:O. The truth is, this series has never nailed down a specific identity. People complaining about the poppy colours in this game seem to forget how saturated the colour palette in Inquisition was. Gak green, anyone? As for the combat, DA2 was extremely mashy and movement focused, so I don't understand the fuss about this one. I -do- hope that we can turn off some of the red zone warnings, or at least that those warnings aren't present for all big enemy attacks. I tend to prefer a mix of ground and animation tells. I'm playing through Origins right now, and my plan is to (somehow) play through the whole series by Halloween. It's nice to have excitement for a BioWare game again. I think there is every possibility that they could drop the ball, but all signs so far are pointing toward a quality product. Leastwise much moreso than we've seen in the last couple of offerings from BioWare. Plus, their transparency is very nice to see.

The rogue was crazy in DA2 with backstabbing to decoy + assassin. Also mage was power with Force mage, electricity, heal. Some how in inquisition it got a tiny bit nurft. Love playing DA2. Looking forward to what I’ll choose on vail guard. It looks like the replayability is worth trying both.

Rage, momentum, and mana are actually really cool imo - each class getting its own resource that it gains in a different way. Wouldn't have expected a system from Diablo 3 to make its way into DA in 2024 lol.

This is honestly my most anticipated game at this point. I finished Inquisition for the first time a couple of months ago including trespassers, and decided to replay it again a couple of weeks later, making different decisions and actually discovering a lot more than I had the first time round. Solas is now without a doubt my favourite character. And that romance was like a tragic love story. Lots of depth that I really appreciated. Bring on 31st October!

While I've played each multiple times I have a personal head canon based around my favorite playthroughs. DAO: Control mage (Human) DA2: Archer Rogue (Human) DAI: Archer Rogue (Dalish) Sometimes in these games I try to guess the companions I'll like most and make a character that complements them. Chee and Kirby are the writers I know most, and they wrote the rogues. The mages seem the most interesting overall as companion NPC's, at least based on first impressions. So that would suggest I should be a warrior. I do like sustain tanks in RPG's. Maybe a Reaver can be that. That makes logical sense and puts some class diversity to my overall canon. On the other hand, skill expression through combat makes up a lot of one's experience in these games. And I do prefer ranged playstyles that have control and combo synergy. So that suggests rogue or mage. Basically I'm a mess and don't know what I'll be. I am leaning towards some kind of archer rogue or mage though.

This is almost my exact thought process as well, with the addition of Trick being my favorite writer and they wrote Taash (a warrior) which throws another wrench into the mix and confuses me further 😂 I think I'll end up re-starting the beginning of the game several times until I get a better feel for my preference in playstyle.

The mage in DA2 was my favourite. With DA origins and inquisition being about the same across the classes. So far for Vail guard I'm leaning to mage just to see what it's like as the only mage game play I've seen hasn't been impressive but maybe that was the player talking for the interview during the game or choosing a necrotic build against the necrotic resistant darkspawn, or having 3 range focused team member and spending more time dodging and trying to get some space to cast.

I've decided I want to try out being a spellblade mage, because that looks like it will combine my two favorite play styles (spells and melee combat). I always agonize over playing either a rogue or mage, so this class looks almost custom designed for people like me. I can't wait to try it! I'll probably also play as an elf first time around, as part of the Antivan Crows, and I want to romance Lucanis (I'm intrigued to find out how romancing a "mage killer" as a mage will work).

Don't know yet. Played Warrior first in Origins, Mage in DA 2 and Rogue in Inquisition. I may go full circle and start with Warrior again, because my first (yet undecided) romance will be Harding, Neve or Lucanis and I don't want my class to overlap with theirs.

I'm always partial to rogue, but the mages look really cool this time around too! I love that we can swap from ranged to close combat styles, it always killed me having to spec for either an archer or a dual wielder in DAI.
