I had the ecoflo delta mini 880. 6 months in it went from full power to nothing over night and wouldn't turn back on. Wouldn't charge or reset. This was before a week long trip and really screwed me. When I got home it finally started to take a charge but wouldn't hold it. Without it powering anything it would die all on its own in 5 days. Sent it back to ecoflo. They said it was damaged beyond repair and wouldn't tell me what was actually damaged. They sent me a refurbished unit but now I have no trust in it.

I brought a Jackery 240 and the reason I did was recharge times. The most likely way you will recharge them when on the road is from your 12v power socket. If you use all 1000w of the biggest unit it will take 16 hours to recharge this way and on solar 9.5 hrs of good sunshine is needed. The 240 on the other hand take 6.5 and 3. So although the 1000w sounds good the recharge opportunity per day may not be enough to charge it anymore than the 240

You could use a 12v splitter, the same as the ones you can get for your car. Plus I'm sure jackery will say you shouldn't stack anything on top, due to structural integrity and heat dissipation.

IMHO a power plant like the jackery is good for what you might call a "bare bones" or ad-hoc van life, or as a backup in a more built out van. For a fully converted van, IMHO you'd want a larger storage capacity, more powerful inverters, and more solar hard mounted on the roof. In such a build, a portable system like the jackery would be something worth having tucked away for an emergency. The other scenario where IMHO it would be more useful, is what I called a bare-bones van life. What I mean by that is a scenario where you have access to a van, but for whatever reason (in use as a working vehicle during the week, not keeping the van for long, a rented or borrowed van etc.) doing a permanent conversion isn't practical. In that scenario, you can throw a folding bed in the back, a small table and chair, and a portable water tank, all of which can be removed again in a few minutes just by lifting them out. With that sort of setup a jackery type power station would really come into its own IMHO. You could power a microwave with it, or a kettle, or a little blower heater.
@keiphillips76483 жыл бұрын
I think you meant to say, it could fully charge your laptop 16 times not for 16 hours? MacBook takes about 2 hours to fully change? That would only get you 8 charges like your old Jackery. Just thought I’d let you know, I’m not trying to be rude or trolly 🤦🏽♂️💪🏾✊🏽🙌🏾

The jackery's older tech Lithium Ion batteries are not only obsolete now, it is a good thing because they are far more dangerous(Samsung, anyone?). It also charges significantly faster than the Jackery, another plus of the newer technology. Another brand to consider is Bluetti, but they are just as pricey as the Jackery, and you have to shop carefully- they still are selling older Lithium Ion models too. Just PLEASE, look at these other brands and learn about the battery tech before you buy...you won't get a Jackery if you do research beyond Amazon customer reviews. You will thank me later!
