Tarantino is great at characterization. Beaumont got himself cornered into the back trunk of a 1980 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight Regency. Jackie Brown, however, turns the tables on Ordell, and convinces him what she is willing to do for him. Jackie brown is master of counter-offers against both criminals and the cops. Brilliant!

He had to save himself from snitches. He couldn't take any chances. If you know people done got arrested and they are looking at a long prison sentence and they got enough info on you to give to the police to lock you away for life. You know they going to snitch and you got to kill any possible snitches so you can stay free. Can't blame him for being cold and ruthless. He did what he had to, to stay free. It's just business.
