The Song "Somewhere" was from the musical "Westside Story" written by Leonard Bernstein. It blew my mind that an 11 year old girl could go note for note with the beautiful Barbra Streisand. Loved it.

Did you know that Lara Fabian rewrote Broken Vow for Jackie? She wrote another version (in french) that a young girl could sing, at the request of her parents. Jackie did cover several songs from Lara or that she heard from Lara: Broken Vow, Caruso, Je t’aime

I had seen this once and--somehow (somewhere?) had forgotten all about it. What a pleasure to rediscover. Jackie is a wonder to behold. Streisand loves duets and has performed, I'd guesstimate at least 40 (low-balling it). Everyone from Judy Garland to Ray Charles to Vince Gill to Celine Dionne to Bryan Adams to Babyface to Melissa McCarthy. Anywho, I think Jackie's people should contact Barbra's people and make it happen! 😊

Excellent video. I believe the song Somewhere is from the original 1950's Broadway musical "West Side Story" a modern day Romeo and Juliet. In 1961, it was made into a movie starring Natalie Wood and in 2021, Steven Spielberg remade West Side Story, his first musical project.

Imagine the conversation Foster had with Barbra to get her permission. Barbra would not ordinarily want her likeness used by ANYONE else, and certainly not on such an iconic song as this was.

If you are ever confronted by a troll who bad-mouths Jackie just refer them to this video plus those she sang with Sarah Brightman, Susan Boyle as well as the covers she performed on the masked singer, especially Celine Dion, to say nothing of her singing for the Japanese royal family and in front of 100,000 Russians as well as BGT (Nessum Dorma-and let's not forget how she was put together with Pavorati singing ND). If this is not enough for the troll you are being played. Do you know what to do then? How can so many music greats be wrong and the troll right? He/she must be visiting Earth from their own planet of music perfection. They must be slumming here and if it is so bad perhaps they will never return. One can only hope.

Barbra is a great singer, not a great American in my opinion, but I enjoyed this duet with Jackie, who more than held her own.
