Hey Jack, you are correct. Zapp is a person but is also the name of the band. Zapp is a funk band that consisted of 4 Troutman brothers: Roger, Larry, Lester & Terry Troutman and other talented bandmates, which included the beautiful vocalist Shirley Murdoch. Roger Troutman's brother Terry Troutman's nickname is Zapp. Also, the female vocalist singing with Roger on this track name is Nicole Cottam. I wonder how many people thought back in the day that was Shirley Murdoch singing with him? I know I did. The other band mates are Bobby Glover, Gregory Jackson, Sherman Fleetwood, Jerome Derrickson, & Eddie Barber.

I betcha jack didn't know that Roger Troutman was the lead singer from the family band zapp and he also sings the hook on California love by 2pac featuring Dr Dre which some people didn't know it is sad that he was killed by his Older brother out of jealousy in 1999
