His first ever TV performance. Also what's funny is you can see him mess up his lines at the start, he forgot to add another sentence when talking about the girl so in the end it doesn't really make any sense, and you can see his face panic as he looks at his brothers trying to remember what comes next. He was doing it all live! And instead of ruining his performance, he just kept going and performed that. Just insane.
@WillieDines1
@WillieDines1 2 жыл бұрын
@MarlaSingersCancer nope, J5 first performance on live TV at the Miss Black America pageant at the Apollo Theater in New York, where they performed the song, "It's Your Thing". Mike didn't forget his line, he was acting out his part as someone telling about a girl they broke up with and knowing his brothers are gonna be joking about it. If you had been paying attention to the whole intro, then it was pretty obvious to see that the whole intro was part of the performance of the song, Who's Loving You and had done that as a way of adding a slight build up before Mike starts to sing.

This was originally a Smokey Robinson song. And when they heard Michael sing it, Smokey knew this boy out sang him with his own song. It left him speechless. He said this boy, this little boy, was singing this song as if he had lived it. That’s why Michael said people used to call him a 40-year-old midget.

Ah Jack, great reaction! Now you've seen young Michael, you'll have even more respect for older Michael. This was December 1969. Michael was 11 here. Insane. He's the only child who you could actually watch and not even appreciate he's a child, and be genuinely taken aback with the talent. He said in an interview that people would call him a 45 year old midget. And to think by this point he'd been performing for six years on the road, supporting acts like Gladys Knight and the Pips etc not to mention their own shows. He was a genius. There is no grown male singer alive who can sing like him at 11 years old, never mind when he was an adult. It's why I can often let it slide when he lipsynched in later years as he had such a powerful voice and to be singing live and recording albums since the age of 6 up to his 40s would've taken a toll on his vocal chords, plus he had absolutely nothing to prove. Everyone knew he could sing. Amazing 😭

Your reactions are giving me life! I’m a 63 year old who who grew up in Indiana. If Michael was alive today he would be 62. That means I was on the entire Micheal Jackson journey in real time. When learned how to dance because of the Jackson 5. I was in the audience when they recorded part of a TV special called Going Back To Indiana. When he was about 25 and recorded the Thriller album (the best selling album of all time) he had already been immensely famous. The Jackson 5 started their career at Motown with 4 consecutive #1 hits and were their best selling artists ever. When he died I mourned like he was a member of my family.

When you said tihat people don't look at his vocals, I thought you had went crazy. Because he has always had stellar a pitch and range, it's God sent. But if it is a younger person who wasn't raised with him and their life. They don't understand I wouldn't remember that the whole family had a one-hour Jackson 5 show on television with of Cher and Diana Ross and whoever else was big at that time they also had a cartoon. They were just as big as the Beatles. You really need to get to know The Jackson 5 and see them perform with Little spunky Janet and their other 2 sisters. Oh yeah VH1 has a movie based on how they became famous.

there’s one specific performance that might be even better than anything you’ve watched til this day, The Grammys Performance 1988 - Michael simply killed it like a Legend he was and still is. Anyways, love your channel ❤️

Thank you for doing this Jack. More J5. I've never heard anyone say Michael can't sing. At least, not anyone with good hearing. Don't forget about reacting to EnVogue: 'Giving him something he can feel". Love you man.

I told you It would blow you away. Now you need to react to THE most iconic performance ever, Billie jean at the Motown 25th anniversary, before this performance he was a superstar, after this performance he was a megastar.
