The best Jackson Browne song, in my opinion. So beautifully written. Structure, harmonies, lyrics. Wow.

Yeah, but Rosemary would have nothing to sing without Jackson Browne's melodies and poetic lyrics! Let's give credit where it's due (genius)😊❤️

@@SteveEcksteinDouglasDrive Love your taste, Mr. Eckstein. Always on the lookout for Ms. Butler in any video; she makes the best of every moment she gets to shine. Can listen to her "Stay" solo all day long!

I was very lucky to see them during this 1978 tour. They had such a great band and Jackson was not only great, he was funny. I think they played just about every song he ever did. Up to Running on Empty of course. I wish i could do it all over again. One of the best lyrics ever.."I'm going back inside and turning out those lights and i'll be in the dark but you'll be out of sight".

JUST LISTEN TO THE MUSIC UNDERNEATH THE WONDERFUL SINGING OF ROSEMARY BUTLER & JACKSON. U WILL POSSIBLY GET INTO THE FLOW & INTERCHANGE OF THE PIANIST, ORGANIST, DAVID LINDLEY(OF COURSE) & GORDON'S RIGHT IN THE MOMENT DRUMMING. A MASTER PIECE, AGAIN. OF COURSE, IT'S A SURE THING W/ JACKSON'S SONGS, SOME "MATURE" LATER THEN OTHERS, ALL " ENDURE" 4 EVER.

So true. Jackson's band is always like that. Having seen him live 5 times since the 1970s, each time with a different line-up, he always assembles people with finesse and class to their playing and singing. They know how to ebb and weave in and out of the song and play together as one, all in support of it. No egos, no "stars". Knowing how to play well is one thing. Knowing how to play well within a band is another.
