This is my favorite Jackson song. Rosemary was superb, showing us how great backup singers can elevate good songs to greatness! She was among the best in the business. 😍

She is magnificent! Around 1996 I went to Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater Florida to see JB. There were two elderly ladies, surely in their eighties, sitting right in front of me. My curiosity got the better of me and I spoke with them. They were Rosemary Butler's aunts who had come to see her perform. So cool!

What a great song! Written by Jackson and the mother ( Nancy Farnsworth) of his wife who later committed suicide with an overdose of barbiturates. Almost sounds like a soap opera , but this song was the inspiration of Nancy Farnsworth before all the bad things happened. She brought it to Jackson for collaboration and the lyrics that he added made it a great song, such as “I’ll be in the dark, but you’ll be out of sight.” Add on Rosemary Butler and David Lindley and there you have it : a perfect song.

I first began to here Jackson Browne in 1976, Hippie generation. Then this Miss everything arrived at my house and waited 8 hours for me to come home. After two months I decided to pop the question so I bought the JB album she and I loved. On Valentine's Day if 1977 I gave her this album. She suggested that we open ours together at which point she gave me a beautiful package that looked like an album. We kissed softly. Then with the anticipation of love making, we both opened our presents, and immediately fell into each others arms knowing that we were more than compatible: two Jackson Browns LPs entitled "the Pretender" with "Here Comes Those Tears Again." We were married in Memphis the weekend after Elvis's funeral by the same C W Bradly that gave the eulogy for Elvis. I buried my wife Patsy on June 27, 2017 and played our song all day. :) Thanks Jackson. I'm only one, but I have cried again and again.

Sometimes words fail to describe what I feel hearing this song after all those years, not that I didn't hear it in between but this registration of this concert fills me with renewed love and warmth, why did I lose that somewhere along the way? Rosemary Butler steals the show here with her orange afro. And she too has faced the inevitable storms of the fierce tides of times. It's how it is. Nothing lasts forever and at a point only yesterday seems to shine. Tears fill my eyes recognizing the frickle flow of time. Men aren't supposed to cry, whoever said that? When I will not be there anymore and my daugthers'll carry my seeds I guess it goes as far as that.

Yes there is a BIG GAP between being a Garage band and reaching "STARDOM". Everyone on that stage has tarried and found that level of Perfection that got them there. Brenda , I agree with you 100%. Even the back up musicians and singers have got to be at their best. It takes EVERYONE , even the Roadies working as 1 big family to stay on the road for years and have the success that Jackson Browne had. Great Lyrics. Great singers and Musicians.
