Maybe you covered this in the first vid but did you see the Saga of Gisli film? In my opinion it's one of the best and probably the most historically accurate portrayal of Norse life of the era.

What I don't understand is, why DID Icelanders write stories of themselves in their own language, but for example not the Dutch. Middle Dutch stories are, as far as I know, nearly all stories from France or England. Why?
