I wish the kiddos that upvote the "asset placers" would come here and see what's up. Anyone can put together legos, but making the legos takes a larger skillset :) Nice job.

Well, tbh you still need to have experience when putting together legos to make something that looks sick. But yes, making the legos yourself is much more impressive :D

Excellent work. I like that you did everything yourself and didn't just copy paste things into a scene like many others do. Keep it up.

It's like photography, except you make the scene instead of taking a picture of it.

So cool, Really love the way your creating your own assets and textures :)
@hugod10008 жыл бұрын
+JackX570 Yeah it definitely does, tbh anyone can make nice looking scenes straight off the asset stores about. I'm still learning all this stuff, I'm not at the stage where I have the confidence or patience to model a rock asset for hours :) Great job, it really shows what you can do with limited assets.

Jeez Louise - 10 hours per scene? No wonder these AAA games take years to get to market. I'd really like to see a follow-through where you take an actor - a bipedal creature or motorbike through this canyon pass. That would be be very interesting to see.

Nice,do u still do tutorials? I was using the default skysphere for a day night cycle,Iam able to do the cycling stuff and the clouds panning over a course of the day but its linear.I mean over the course of in game day the cloud coverage changes from 1 value to another then repeats, Do you have any idea how to make it just so that every new day cycle it randomly changes the value of cloud coverage and seamlessy transition in between.I hope that made sense

Awesome work! Thank you for showing us your workflow! Just one quick question: when modeling the sandy pathway, why didn't you intead go with using the in-built terrain tools? That would have given you a similar level of deformation, I suppose.

looking very nice. And very informative. How do you manage to hide the seams? When i've tried to something similar, i usally get quite visible seams on my rocks, especially under certain lightning conditions. Is there a good tip for that other than putting them in cracks and trying to hide them where they're not so visible. I mean, is there a good way to get rid of them (more or less).
@jonasmlgaard88848 жыл бұрын
***** I use Quixel suite, but only played around with it for a week or so, and therefore don't know too much about how to get rid of seams in Q. So you say i can paint them out in Q?

Speaking of ZBrush and those rock brushes, do you happen to know how to get rid of the square border? If i use one of his free brushes and one of my own alphas, i don't see any square border, but if i use the standard brush and same alpha, i get the border.
@jonasmlgaard88848 жыл бұрын
excellent, i'll take a look at them.

Great stuff, but a small yet useful advice, faking lighting is key with this kind of environments where there are extreme lighting contrasts. Full GDC 2013 Presentation: Shining the Light Crysis 3: pydonzallaz.wordpress.com/2013/08/23/gdc-europe-2013-shining-the-light-on-crysis-3/ It is done in CryEngine 3 but i'm pretty sure you could manage to translate that knowledge to UE4. Cheers, bro. Keep it up!
