He has fanned the flames of populism in deciding to change his view on the Lords to wanting the abolition of it due to it stopping Brexit, having been one of the few people correctly wanting to keep it unelected previously. His absolutist Brexit policy is one that will be politics by sledgehammer, his views on economics have been tried before and threaten the stability of the country, as they did in the 1980s.

I have watched this woman on The Daily Politics for several years. She was brought on as a junior presenter to accompany Andrew Neill, who has a scalpel-like wit and intelligence; she has NO wit and a merely average intelligence. It speaks volumes that even though I have watched her at least 20 times I cannot tell you her name without looking it up. The real giveaway is that SHE NEVER LOOKS AT HER INTERVIEWEE when talking to him. The reason is that she is not conducting an interview, she is declaring her own 'progressive agenda' . She is not actually interested in Jacob Rees Mogg, or his sincerely held views as an elected member of parliament; she just wants to try and make him look bad. That is an appalling betrayal of the original values of the BBC - often referred to as 'Reithian' . . .under that system, the presenter/ interviewer is a MINOR figure, merely there to draw out the views of the important person - namely the one being interviewed. She however thinks that SHE is the important person, and he is only there to allow her to harangue the audience with her PC credentials as a Social Justice Warrior. It is very hard to try to "catch someone out" when that person has very balanced and sensible views, has eternal calm and is open about it all. It's pretty clear that he illustrates perfect integrity and can differentiate between his own personal views and how to best do his job and what is fair to society on the whole. People with little or no integrity cannot see that or understand it. It is similar with liars, who constantly accuse others of lying and do not trust anybody, because they simply cannot understand what it is to tell the truth purely for the sake of telling the truth. She is a bully and he handled her very well, without being offensive.

I have no respect for the woman whatsoever she just asks stupidly worded questions and critises responses. As a gay man I can’t support J.R.M as 1) im a labour member and 2) im a gay man and have no respect for his views on our marriage. Until he can prove god is real and doesn’t want us to marry, then he can leave us alone. Having said that, I admire him greatly, he has such integrity and is honest which are two characteristics that are extremely rare in politicians.
@theinqov4 жыл бұрын
@@jammiedodger374 Are there any politicians that you agree with all of their opinions? At least with JRM there is no way he would get general support on banning gay marriages so if that's the only thing you disagree on then he would actually be an excellent person to follow on that basis (asides from being a Labour fan). I thought UK now had legally-binding same-sex civil partnerships anyway? It is really a difficult thing with these kinds of topics, where someone is following bible teachings, on which most Western countries have based their laws, it is very, very difficult to criticise too harshly without also attempting to denounce the Christian faith in its entirety (and therefore most mono-God religions too), especially when it is/they are so deeply embedded in the rituals of legal stuffs ("in God we trust," "God save the Queen," etc etc.)
@janmetdekorteachternaam36734 жыл бұрын
O really? If you disagree with your first statements, you must have little integrity? Wow.... Whether what Mogg actually believes is balanced or sensible has nothing to do with him not being 'caught out'. If you go along with his 'tolerance is about tolerating opposing views' , you'd have to tolerate a politician that privately holds the views that sex with children should be legal, 'but it will not become policy as long as public opinion is against it', as well. As this fictive politician can also distinguish his personal views from how to best do the job. It is not a sensible argument at all. You can't be tolerant about everything, just for the sake of tolerance.
@theinqov4 жыл бұрын
@@janmetdekorteachternaam3673 I did not say that if you disagree with my opening statements that you must have little integrity, not at all. But, what I did say is that people of little integrity cannot understand what it is to want to be honest purely for the sake of being honest. It happens that people with low integrity will twist and shape others' words in order to try to make a point and often fall down because what they're saying simply isn't true.

I’m gay. No one has to agree with it. JRM is completely right. People (esp liberals) are unable to separate ideas from people, personal views from secularity. If someone doesn’t agree with gay marriage then that doesn’t matter. All I ask for is tolerance. JRM and other religious people inarguably are v tolerant of people like myself. They don’t have to like it and pander to my every word ffs. A bill passed by Parliament is difficult to dismantle without significant support either way.

Damn right...this is the most (LIberal) left wing Consevative party ever known. Pro divorce. Pro abortion. Hug a hoodie. They are so left wing , even George Galloway would blush!! Jacob Rees Mogg IS the real deal!!
@paullangton-rogers23906 жыл бұрын
I would argue the same. I was thinking the same thing this morning. Nearly everything the Conservative party have done in recent decades and are doing still, is anti-Conservative. Really UK politics is like this.. The Conservative Party are centre left, and Labour are far left! That's why we have this political correctness BS and our country is overcrowded and we're in the EU. Conservatism used to be about protecting our culture, our identity, doing what's right and moral. Labour is the same. That party is far removed from its original roots as a party for the working class. Whilst it still may depend on the working class and the trade unions, its views and politics are more globalist and far removed from the interests of UK workers and jobs (beyond the public sector of course, and their union paymasters).

why would anyone want a conservative country.....no thanks. i don't want to live in a strict religious country stuck in the past. We need to get rid of conservatism and have a proper centrist government, pro-business, pro-equality for all, pro-workers rights and the dismantling of man made religion in politics.

What a cheek. Dressed like someone from the eighteenth century. Another historically inaccurate comment. How dare she talk about his dress sense on a political programme. Just another failed attempt to undermine him prior to the real interview, because she knows she can't defeat him in debate.

We 3r1 look at the background, BBC put up the worst picture they could find of JRM to undermine him even before he starts interview. Disgusting ,

Steve Vater They can do their best to try to belittle him, but he shines through anyway unlike other politicians who would complain about their backgrounds because their arguments are so weak, they rely on image.

It also shows great ignorance of how people dressed in the 18th century. The modern suit and tie that he is wearing (and that all sorts of people wear) goes back to about the 1920s.

It okay for this cow to criticise JRMs dress code but not for Boris criticising Muslims dress code. Ucking BBC.
@we4r1196 жыл бұрын
19thewanderer The popular press have ridiculed Boris's appearance for decades and he hasn't called for anyone to take a course on diversity or good manners. Jo Coburn and her ilk are just rude and no one calls for her to take classes on polite etiquette. We don't expect her to either, we want our journalists to have the freedom to question and challenge. That is part of the freedom we used to enjoy in the west. However, to my mind she is a poor political commentator anyway because she isn't neutral enough to present both sides of a debate fairly. She allows her own political opinion to push an agenda. I think it's because she knows she is intellectually inferior to the likes of JRM, that she seeks to undermine him before entering into a discussion. It is a typical tactic of people with weak arguments to hurl personal insults as a means of detracting from her weak arguments. I think she thinks it makes her look tough. It does, but in a bad way.

Jesus Christ, think for yourself instead of spewing out accusations of "(Russian) Bot" to everyone that you disagree with. Attack my ideas and statements.

NZ? Is that shorthand for NAZI by any chance? How quaint. A simple click of your channel reveals that you've been an artifical right wing bot since 2012. You fool nobody, little bot. We're wise to your hate mongering.

+caffy matthews I am quite curios as to why is it that you have a photo of a adult yet you behave like a spoiled child. When you see the letters NZ the first thing that comes to your mind is NAZI? *Not New Zealand?* I recommend you consult your local psychiatrist. Also what if i told you that there are Jews who are named Ashkenazi Jews ? How will your infantile brain respond to that? *GROW UP.*
@NZAnimeManga6 жыл бұрын
Don't bother, it'll just call you a bot too. Seems like a bit of a stretch of effort to fake a human recording 800+ videos, consistently, for 6+ years to create "an artifical right wing [NAZI] bot". Or rather, a massive stretch of cognitive dissonance (& hysteria) on caffy's part - I wonder, which is more likely?
