People who believe in Heaven only do so because it seems to mean that they won't REALLY die, clearly in opposition to reality. And any idea that "bad"people will be punished AFTER they've died is just more of the same delusion. If we are expected to tolerate religious views that we don't agree with, in the name of tolerance, then religions should be expected to tolerate non-religious views that they don't agree with, in the same spirit of tolerance. He is an excellent defender of sovereignty and one of the few people willing to defend faith properly. On the other hand, he is very irresponsible. It is very hard to try to "catch someone out" when that person has very balanced and sensible views, has eternal calm and is open about it all. It's pretty clear that he illustrates perfect integrity and can differentiate between his own personal views and how to best do his job and what is fair to society on the whole. People with little or no integrity cannot see that or understand it. It is similar with liars, who constantly accuse others of lying and do not trust anybody, because they simply cannot understand what it is to tell the truth purely for the sake of telling the truth. She is a bully and he handled her very well, without being offensive.

I disagree with many of Rees Mogg's standpoints. However, every time I take the time to listen to him I am impressed by his logic, honesty, integrity and capability. He has his opinions, and accepts that they may not be the majority view, but that the majority view must prevail. His tolerance in a so called liberal but actually very intolerant world is to be admired and respected. Every time I listen to him I feel educated and reassured. I would argue the same. I was thinking the same thing this morning. Nearly everything the Conservative party have done in recent decades and are doing still, is anti-Conservative. Really UK politics is like this.. The Conservative Party are centre left, and Labour are far left! That's why we have this political correctness BS and our country is overcrowded and we're in the EU. Conservatism used to be about protecting our culture, our identity, doing what's right and moral. Labour is the same. That party is far removed from its original roots as a party for the working class. Whilst it still may depend on the working class and the trade unions, its views and politics are more globalist and far removed from the interests of UK workers and jobs (beyond the public sector of course, and their union paymasters).

19thewanderer The popular press have ridiculed Boris's appearance for decades and he hasn't called for anyone to take a course on diversity or good manners. Jo Coburn and her ilk are just rude and no one calls for her to take classes on polite etiquette. We don't expect her to either, we want our journalists to have the freedom to question and challenge. That is part of the freedom we used to enjoy in the west. However, to my mind she is a poor political commentator anyway because she isn't neutral enough to present both sides of a debate fairly. She allows her own political opinion to push an agenda. I think it's because she knows she is intellectually inferior to the likes of JRM, that she seeks to undermine him before entering into a discussion. It is a typical tactic of people with weak arguments to hurl personal insults as a means of detracting from her weak arguments. I think she thinks it makes her look tough. It does, but in a bad way.
