Found this grill series on Thursday. I kid you not, I was driving on I-35 in KC on Tuesday and saw a welding rig much like yours with the exact same grill on it. Exact same pipeliner grill design. Very cool. Elegant design.

Watching you build/design these grills had me to finally jump on making mine! I have 4 vents on the bottom & one relatively big smoke stack with a tractor exhaust flap to control heat. Might wanna get a thermometer from home depot to help read everything on yours. Great work otherwise! Big inspiration! Now my grill stays strapped down in my bed, ULTIMATE TAILGATE BBQ haha Love all your vids Jake! ✌

You don’t close the lid when your grilling steaks. If your smoking and low and slow cooking than close the grill learn to use the amount of charcoal u need. Also put charcoal on one side of the grill so you can have direct heat and than an indirect heat

Great glimpse into life on the road! Tip for grilling - get a pro quality instant read digital thermometer. The fancy fold-up ones not the grocery store ones. I always leave a “no coal zone” even on a small grill- you can sear your steak over the coals then let it come up to temp (120 for med-rare) in the ‘indirect heat’ zone. Like welding it’s all about control.

I was too. Really disapointed my parents. Momma wanted me to be a Pentecostal itinerant tent evangelist and daddy was hoping for a piano player at a brothel. Or a oilfield pumper. But went to the darkside. Then became a inspector in 1990. Lost my hair and quit drinking in 2004. Quit smoking in 2011. Been downhill all the way!
