It differs from person to person. However, this resonates with me. I also found it helpful when I realized I didn’t have the language to describe the immense pain. Saying I’m really hurting wasn’t enough, to closest thing to what I was feeling was to say I was suicidal, however in therapy I realized, that I just didn’t have the language. People tend to not be that helpful/supportive unless you are in dire need. But we should have a way to communicate and get support before it gets to that point.

My experience is one of the the worst parts of growing with abusive/ neglectful parents is the crazy-making feeling of no adults acknowledging what is happening is wrong. I’m sure it hurt her a lot, but I also believe that it could have been a relief to have the truth acknowledged. My friend said the best day of her life was when she was taken into care. Not because she felt safer, but because she felt validated.

Grief is so different and until you have lost someone you loved so dearly with no closure , you will never understand the depths of pain. It’s easy to say “get over it “ because she married someone else doesn’t ease the pain, doesn’t just erase that part of her life. I lost my son 9 yrs ago and his wife is still single …my husband lost his first wife and he still cries it’s been 21 yrs for him. I don’t judge him because there is no time for grief and love doesn’t just die because the person dies it actually gets stronger because your mind needs protection from so much pain. I pray for Jada and her family it’s deep but I commend her for not committing suicide.

I love that Steven reads and refers to specific parts of the book in his interview. 99.9% of interviewers would say, "Yes, I read it and enjoyed/liked it." Full stop. I appreciate his genuine curiosity and compassion in all the episodes/interviews I've watched. Secondly, I love that Jada has chosen to flip the script on the Hollywood Idea of external perfection, as Steven mentioned. Red Table Talk with Jada breaks that wall down, gives space for humans to be human, and all that comes with it. Imagine your entire career living with the pressure to always be perfect, knowing it's not the truth, standing up and saying no more yet having to strike a balance. Bravo to both of you!!

Stephen is a gifted interviewer. His preparation for this interview was just crispy. You could literally cut the preparation with a knife. Very evident. Also, his empathy and relatableness is incredible. Being able to even go himself to get her tissue & offer a hug (Bobo has good home training 😅) The environment created also being non judgmental and neutral made Jada really open up in a way I have not seen in all her interviews. Big ups to him. Just like Jada, we all have our own fair share of baggages we all struggle with and my prayer for her and for everyone is that May God help us all to become whole and know that he is the solution and the mender of broken hearts. Last week, Gabor mate talked about how people behave when they’ve experienced trauma, especially childhood trauma it’s called trauma response. I could be wrong, but that’s what I see -- is jada’s trauma release. It is not true that Pinkett and Smith's differences are a metaphor for some inherent "difference" between men and women in relationships. Any differences in ways of thinking between my spouse and I are because we are different people who lived different lives before we came together, not because sexual biology pre-disposes my spouse to think one way and I another. There is so much ignorance toward the ways and which MOST boys and girls are raised and its impact on these stereotypical "differences" that manifest in adult relationships that keep us from healing and from seeing our partner and others for who they are - not the role they've been conditioned to fill and the psychoses that come with them.

Exactly - How do you reform as a criminal? You simply redefine what a ciminal is.. and change that law..... in order for her not to be seen as the cheater... she now invents this story of them not being together. So, now she is the victim. If this host or others can't recognize a narcissist then its a real shame. I'm so happy to see Jada, I had the privilege of hanging out with her once and I was mesmerized by her. Not just her stunning physical beauty in person, but her warm, kind energy and spirit was beautiful. Nothing felt phony or pretentious about her. I've been around many celebrities, but her humble, happy, welcoming spirit made me want to be a better person. I'll never forget that experience, it had a profound impact on me. I read Will’s book so when the slap happened, I understood it on more than a surface level so I partially understand what Jada meant when she said the slap wasn’t about her. And I’ll read her book, too. We need to have much more compassion for each other because I KNOW if just the snap shots of my bad decisions and mistakes were public for everyone to judge, I’d be hated too. But if you read my life in full, you’d have better context- just like my friends and family who have always stood by me. I challenge everyone judging to look inward and do the same. What are you ashamed of? What decisions would you rather take to your grave than reveal? Now think about them being public for millions to judge without knowing who you actually are as a person. Would we villainize you, too?

I had read Will's book before the Oscar slap and I saw how the slap happened. It was not right but, given the therapeutic work that Will was exploring at the time ( his helplessness over his father's physical abuse of his mother) I totally saw that slap coming. She uses therapy not as a means to get better, but as her parachute to willingly do horrible things to other people, then shifts all the blame, guilt, humiliation onto them (the person who she initially hurt). After step one is accomplished she then becomes the perceived victim who "survived" the trauma (which she caused) and overly glorifies her recovery process to make it seem that it was a inspirational journey of self growth for her. She is the perpetrator, who uses peoples forgiveness as a way to manipulate them.

I think they were both/are both ambitious to a fault (society enables that so not saying they are to blame…we create celebrity) and maybe her more so still as she has perhaps not been humbled as maybe, maybe, maybe Will has been after a very public very bad mistake? She just “Wanted to look into his eyes” really? Humans are multi-faceted. There's rarely all good and/or all bad. People make mistakes and people with a lot of trauma have a different way of thinking. Your upbringing affects so much of what you become and all the negative connotations to things are such a blocker to work around. No hate on Jada for sharing her story. It really helps understand her character. Wanting an escape and not having your needs met makes people do things that are illogical. Your brain will find a way to do that for you. I've learned from this channel 😅.
