One of the things I like about the Khan is the way considers all sides of the decisions he makes. His choosing of a side in the Heresy essentially boiled down to acknowledging the Emperor was a Tyrant but knowing what Horus had become was much worse. "I fight for a father I never loved against a brother I did. I defend an empire that never wanted me against those who would have taken me in a heartbeat." Great writing by Chris Wraight.

Arvida (a thousand son, who had a vision of what the imperium would become in the 40 millenium):" I am already corrupted, but I am not alone -It comes for all of us. Even you. I saw it. I saw what we are building. Do you hear me, Master of Chogoris? There is no victory. No victory." The Khan's reply :" I do not doubt your visions. But what do they change? Shall we stare up at the shadows and let the blades fall from our hands? Know this, son of Magnus, there is more under the arch of heaven than victory and defeat. We may fall back, but not forever. We may feint and we may weave, but not forever. We may yet be doomed to lose all we cherish, but we do so in the knowledge that we could have turned away, and did not. We remain true. They can never have this, not if they burn all we ever build and scorn us through the dacing flames. You hear me? We remained true."

"So I fight for a father who I never loved, against a brother I did. I defend an empire that never wanted me against an army that would have taken me in a heartbeat." I think the Emperor is the one person, aside from the Khan himself, that knew the Khan would stand in defense of the Empire and his father without question. I've always perceived the Khan as being honorable, loyal and a deep thinker. But the nostalgia for the last time he stood with his father, even though it was awkward, was his favorite memory. Makes me ever more glad that the vision that showed which Primarchs would be returning next included Jaghatai Khan.

@@DEMONX62 In Ashes of Prospero we were shown a conversation between logan Grimnar and Njal Stormcaller who had a vision of the future. In that vision he foresaw glimses which may mean the return of Johnson, Corax and Khan in wake of Guilliman's return.
@Greatkingrat885 жыл бұрын
That's a weird conclusion to make given that Jaghatai was one of the most ambivalent, ambiguous primarchs whose loyalty was not well known. He sided against Horus only after he knew the truth of Horus being an oathbreaker, and even then he still resented the imperium since it was built on a lie.
@chrisbennett62365 жыл бұрын
Clearly none of you understand what being honorable means. Jaghatai swore an oath to his father that he would serve the empire and his father. To an honorable person oaths cannot be broken despite what it costs them. The Emperor knew Jaghatai would give his life to defend the empire simply because he swore an oath. Now I'm sure none of you are from an Asian country, most probably from the most corrupt and dishonorable country in the world currently, the US but believe me when I say that discipline, honor and loyalty are the foundation of most if not all Asian cultures. You simply do not break your oaths or do things that hurt others unnecessarily. The Emperor has proven many times that he knows his sons inside and out even if in his human stubbornness he chooses not to believe it.
@Raveneye20005 жыл бұрын
Jaghatai Kahn wants his father's approval like all Primarchs do. They disagree deeply on strategy and managed to build little in the way of a truly personal relationship due to their mutual reticence, but he at the very least wants to love his father. One big difference between the Khan and his siblings is his sheer independence and intellectual integrity, greater even than that of Guilliman. He could stand apart from the Imperium and judge it for himself, never falling over himself to please his father or fulfill his father's dreams.
@bryanaa1964 жыл бұрын
Hmmm... I don't think Guilliman is as how you described him, he was so enraged when he saw what happened to the imperium after 10 millenia. Just because the Emperor and Guilliman's vision are similar doesn't mean Blue Daddy doesn't have his own vision for the Imperium, just on his resurrection he acknowledged the lie he told to himself on why they still fight for a twisted imperium.
@leshovariety4 жыл бұрын
@@bryanaa196 to be honest im more interested on what the khan would think about Raboote getting help from the eldar i mean yes they arent dark eldar but i dont think the khan would just say "Oh hey you got a xeno next to you brother as a friend? alright then were good" i would love to see how Raboote would say or do to convince the Khan that the eldar is not a threat

Disagreed. Boiling down personalities of ALL primarchs down to daddy issues does them incredible disservice and contradicts their actual actions. The Khan was the wisest of all his brothers. He knew well enough that he wanted nothing to do with their squabbles but he had made an oath. And that's the right thing to do.
@magearamil86262 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't fully agree with that he was the wisest. You take for granted that Emperor is a tyrant and nesesery evil. But what if that is very untrue? Emperor most likely saved humanity from fate similar to Old Aeldari Race, aka getting consumed by chaos. If not his exact actions there wouldn't even be any humanity in 30th milenium or 35 ? We never know. If you look at the situation like this Emperor wasn't "nesesery evil tyrant" but actually was greates hero who sacrificed very little to save whole race. I would argue that from the point of view of normal imperial citizens there SHOULDN'T even be a SLIGHT doubt which is the side of conflict that will get them better future. Basically any wise man who wasn't extremely corrupted, revenge hungry/power hungry wouldn't ever consider joing chaos. So actually his doubts where not all that "wise". I would say he was very conflicted internally between few of his beloved brothes and greater good (and rest of his brothers). But it doesn't exactly make him "the wisest". Primarchs who didn't even think about it but were simply loyal are maybe not the brightest by comparison however you really have to think about heresy for 5 minutes to get conclusion you should remain loyal if you have any hope for bright future for yourself and humanity.
@ianharrison57582 жыл бұрын
@@magearamil8626 so the countless people murdered for no other reason than wanting to be left alone mean nothing? The hypocrisy, the secrecy, and the straight up lies of the emperor mean nothing? He had the entirety of humanities history to prep us for chaos. He could have started long before we were too strong to beat his ass if we didn’t like his plans. That’s abt the only reason why he waited until AFTER mankind’s golden age to actually do anything meaningful. He’s not a hero. He may have had a better outcome for humanity than Horus did(hitler did too, so that doesn’t say anything abt the quality of the emperors vision other than it’s better than eternal soul sodomy) He’s a tyrant that hid in the shadows for the day mankind would be weak and scared enough to unite under him and him alone. He let millions of innocents die at the hands of Angron and his legion, let countless more die for no other reason than not immediately being compliant, and left the fate of the galaxy in the hands of 18 Demi gods he did little to actually guide at their darkest moments and actively lied and manipulated them. The Khan saw all of this. At the end of the day tho, the worst the emperor did when he walked the earth is nothing compared to chaos so you are right abt one thing. No one in their right mind would choose chaos
@magearamil86262 жыл бұрын
@@ianharrison5758 well I mostly agree with you, however I am pretty sure Emperor wanted to leave humanity's free will to themselves and only guard them from the shadows, only when all else failed he steped in. I think that Golden Age of Technology humanity still would simply have to kneel before Emperor... Ofcoure a lot more would be able to simply run away and leave imperium, but he would rule humanity regardless
@Scottoest Жыл бұрын
I don't really consider going along with something simply because of an oath to be wisdom. Doing something because it's right? Sure. But the Khan wasn't really alone on that. Guilliman also had concerns about things like the Great Crusade and how it was carried out, but thought it was ultimately for a greater good. One thing I'll give the Khan is that he told Big E exactly how he felt about the "Imperial Truth", whereas other primarchs just had their own private misgivings. Of course ultimately he still went along and did his job for the Emperor, so I'm not sure how much that counts for versus any of his brothers.

The emperor saying that even the stars are fleeting - is that the speed of his ship is nice - but there is a bigger picture - the picture of the Imperium of Man as He intended it, not just the web way - but seeing beyond to an era when even the Primarchs and Astartes - whom He created to bring about this vision are no longer needed. An Imperium ruled by, of and for mankind and likely not limited to just the Milkyway Galaxy.

While they have changed the law to make that disclosable to the buyer (and there is a special branch of insurance you get to cover it). It is really important you go through them, especially if you are in a coal or flood area. I think.. the Khan has become the closest son to the Emperor. He is very much a realist and a pragmatist. Nothing much like his brothers who all have either trauma or ego to contend with. I think the fact the Khan is so much like his father is precisely why Jaghatai thinks they are 'nothing alike'.
