Again the mistake that many learned people make - they focus on technicalities, but many things Indian, though technically sound, focuses more on how it makes you feel. This song doesn't need the singer to be flexing his muscles, though he can; this song is supposed to take one back to one's childhood. Whenever one is reminiscing, one just wants to focus on their childhood memories, not how well the singer is singing or how good the music is. That's why this song seems very simple, but focus of this song is YOU, the audience, not itself, which is the song and the music technicalities. Like Rick said, we tend to over-analyse things and get stuck into relationships. This song begs one to stop that tendency and get back to their simple yet mesmerizing childhood...not get stuck; run free like a child in their own childhood again.

Ghazals drench one's soul with nostalgia. Poetry + Melody that vibrate through one's being. Jagjit Singh is a Maestro. His album "Someone Somewhere" that he and his wife released after the tragic death of his young son is hauntingly beautiful and soulful. The lyrics are deep and touching. It's the type music that makes your heart ache yet soothes through its gentle beauty. Just lovely😍.

I still remember the day and the time when I heard the news about his death, I was traveling by a bus and coincidentally, was listening to his ghazals (specifically "Shaam se aankh mein kuch nami si hai... Aaj phir aapki kami si hai" at that very moment) it hit me so hard, the sad news, I was silently crying for so long, not caring people staring at me in bewilderment. Tears after tears rolling down my cheeks, I felt so sad. I always wanted to listen to him live and I lost that chance. I still regret not witnessing him singing live and listening to his velvety voice that I grew up listening to. Jagjit Singhji will always be a legend.❤️
