Congrats! I’ve got a 2014 F-Type V8S in white. Owned it a couple years and love it! I almost pulled the trigger on a 2016 R that was white with carbon brakes. Fully loaded, low miles, great price and I passed, ugh... wish I had bought it, I couldn’t buy that car for that price today. The convertible is tons of fun during the summer though.

@@kellyjensen9425 absolutely a blast! A little update on the car, it’s still under CPO warranty which is why I got it. Thank goodness though because something went wrong with the catalytic conv. but so far Jaguar has been awesome picking it up in my area and taking it to the nearest dealership in Little Rock, AR. I can’t wait to get it back, let the snow melt and get back out in it!

@@ddcok21 Wow! The cats already had issues? I’m genuinely surprised. I wonder if your car didn’t have the patch that significantly reduces the exhaust overrun pops. Mine had the patch and I requested a different patch that gives you the pops back. I’m pretty sure the whole software patch was to save the cats. If customers didn’t complain about the way the car sounded after updating the ecu then they would leave it. If you complained they were instructed to upload a different patch. Anyway, glad it’s sorted. I’m going to tune mine so less worried about the cats. Mine has been rock solid, i beat the snot out of it. I’ll be posting some racing videos of mine against some Z06’s on my channel chillznax. I only occasionally upload but will have a decent FType racing video soon.

Bro thanks for these videos! I don't know how to explain it, but most videos I have found on KZbin dealing with this car seemed to be geared toward people that either alrady know a lot about cars or people who simply plan on just going to mechanic. Your videos are great because it feels like someone talking to me while chilling on the porch and not someone talking to me like they're giving a class room lecture. Also I can't say thank you enough for addressing everyday issues like things coming loose! Again most videos focus on the big expensive "potential" problems that will require a mechanic and not the small but annoying issues that we can fix ourselves.

Took a F-Type 400 out for a test drive a week ago and am now researching the car to see if I'm interested. This is by far the most practical two videos that I have come across. A lot of people focus on what it's like to drive (and my test drive was certainly fun), but if I'm going to purchase I'm more interested in learning what it's like to live with. Thanks for the time that you put into these, and for the creativity in producing something different. I learned quite a bit.

The rubberized textures to the buttons is a very common issue. This has been used time and time again on old cellphones, zoom mics, etc. . . and they always wear. It's nice to know that there's a remedy.

Good vid, man. For anyone worried about the water pump. I have 2011 XJ Supercharged with same engine. My water pump failed at 8 years 80K miles. You may not see coolant leak (I did not), but if you notice lower coolant that is a sign of a slow leak. When it fails completely you'll know. "Coolant Low" warning and engine will begin to overheat. Stop, tow to shop, easy $500 repair no big deal. The F-Type is a sports car so will likely be driven harder than a big luxury sedan so this may fail sooner in a car driven harder or more mileage. The sticky button problem is well known in a lot of European brands, makeup remover wipes takes care of that easy. Enjoy your JagUar!

Just bought my F-Type. Thankfully the seller was transparent about the coolant leak with those y pipes. He already purchased the replacement Y pipe but he purchased a metal version instead of plastic. I suggest purchasing the Metal replacement part because you are at significant less risk to no risk of this ever happening again. This cost me $300 of labor taking it to the mechanic and the metal part was $250.

Jaguar Land Rover has amended the warranty period on Oxygen Sensors to 15years/150,000 miles on most 2013 and up JLR models, F-Type being one of them. If your car ever gets close to overheating, as Connor suggests it’s critical that you shut it down, immediately. I would add that you should turn on the heater (open your windows) and turn the fan to high. This will help dissipate the heat away from the engine. Aluminum blocks and heads can warp; which would be a catastrophic failure.

I have got the same rattle. Appears with low audio frequencies as well. I didn’t rip it apart as I saw SRS symbol within that area. But, there is a nut that holds the quarter glass to the body, I found that to be little loose, ended up tightening it by hand to be best as I didn’t know the torque spec. @skrrtgarage39223 жыл бұрын
You must have a strong battery, right on 🙌🏼
@cmercer5553 жыл бұрын
This is actually a problem with the F-Type (most likely on my XE S as well, but never tried it). Once you hook up an OBDII device (most of them), they will leave a device in a waiting state and not close it out, so the device stays on and drains the battery. In order to correct it, you need to disconnect the battery for about 20-30 minutes and it all gets cleared. Your dead battery "cleared" it on it's own. I discovered this by mine having issues. I have to reset it on track days when I hookup my OBDII device to send to TrackAdict for track days. The whole car goes insane telling you that everything is broken (it's not), but after I'm done with my track day, I disconnect the battery for 20-30 minutes and then reconnect. It clears it out and it's back to normal. If you want to test it, connect up your OBDII device, you'll start seeing errors, then you'll notice that your Hazard Triangle and door lock LEDs stay on for way too long after shutting down the car. Then after a day, you get into the car and it will instantly tell you to start the car because of a low battery.
@cmercer5553 жыл бұрын
@@skrrtgarage3922 If you like, make a note of the reply that I just did to Nick Joseph Cars concerning the dead battery and ODBII device. You could test it all out and do a video about it. It is very consistent and I went through a lot (long dealer visit included) to figure it out (the dealer didn't).
@gail43133 жыл бұрын
My F Type R 2017 did the same with a Pearl Backup Camera that uses an OBD2 device to trigger the video when put into reverse. I just received a new one to try to see if it is a software issue. I also have it at the shop and asked the dealer to validate the software is up to date. The port should shut off with the car. I also had the same problem with an OBD2 reader. I had to disconnect the battery to get the system to start charging again. I asked the dealer if they did a disconnect each time after using a OBD2 reader and I was told no. Perhaps it is the type of reader that foils the electrical system.

Yup, had that part go on my XF. It's under the supercharger so it's not cheap to replace.

Oh dang, mind me asking how much it was to have someone fix it?

@@skrrtgarage3922 I had the dealer do it. $1400. I'm pretty sure it can be done much cheaper.

I know it’s been a while since you made this, and had an f-type. But i have a hood that gaps in the front, between hood and front fender. Do you know how to fix that?

Hey!! Sorry, doesn’t anyone know where to find all the options that were available in 2015?? And their costs. Looking at a few to buy!

I posted it in the O2 sensor video I made. Or you can just google the part number and they should pop up

The 0-60 is basically still the same, the added power makes it a little more difficult to launch. I still get 3.6ish
