Hey, you have some sweet-looking guitars and the chops to match. How tough are these guitars to keep in tune? Do you find one stays in tune better than the other? I have a strat but it's not cutting it for me as a surf guitar.

Hi, thanks for your comment! Much appreciated. I find the Jazzmaster stays in tune very well with a set of 11s on as they're designed for heavy strings. I think a lot of people have tuning problems with them because they put light strings on. So I've got the Jazzmaster well setup and it keeps tuning fine. The Jaguar less so but it's not too bad, it's due a string change now anyway. I used to have a lot of tuning problems with Strats. What strings do you have on? I have one with 10s and one with 11s and they keep tuning OK. I find repeatedly stretching and tuning the strings until they stay in tune once I've put them on really helps. I also put a bit of pencil lead on the nut as the graphite reduces friction. By and large all that seems to work, hope that helps!

@@charlielovattguitar That does help thanks. I've heard thicker strings work better with a bigsby so that makes sense. My main squeeze is a Tele with tens but I've been wanting to add an offset guitar to my collection. Squire Jazzmaster it is.

@@carlmccarty6470 Glad it's helped. If you go with 11s or 12s on an offset then you'll be ok. Just bear in mind if you're going from a Tele, that the offsets are very different and even with heavy strings, they won't be as rock solid as a Tele. Would recommend the Squier J. Mascis Jazzmaster and get some 11s on and set up straight away. My Squier Jag had a terrible set up so had to do a bit of work, but it's all part of the fun really!

They’re fenders… thee one thing I’ve always appreciated about fenders is that they DO stay in tune…. I have four fenders and I play surf music and use the vibrato a lot and they always stay in tune.

@@jeffhussey6049 yeah I find I have very few tuning problems with the tremolos as they're all well set up and the strings are properly stretched and tuned so they're pretty good for keeping in tune. That Jazzmaster I've got is fantastic for holding tuning.
