Another smashing tutorial Peter. It’s all to easy to be sent down a rabbit hole while trying to interpret scan tool fault codes and like you say different tools have different descriptions it can get very confusing. I have to admit not many days go by where I can’t be found sat behind the wheel looking and cursing a scan tool 😩😂

You are absolutely correct Kevin, it is a bloody minefield. On problem cars sometimes you don’t know whether to trust the scantool or not & oh boy that rabbit hole can be a horrible place. We don’t want to admit to the customer that we got it wrong & they go around thinking we are lying to them 🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️ Rant over 😂😂😂 cheers Kev 😉👍

Your persistence and knowledge saved the day. Technology can sometimes trip itself up. No such issues with the old inline injection pumps or dpa type pumps.

thats was like finding a needle in a hey stack especially when someone else was working on the car you would Automatically think they done there job propley but a easy mistake two to forget to put the seal back on. very good find peter

It can be quite hard making sure everything is perfect & we are only human after all. And Paddy it can be the smallest of things that catch us out, so non of us should ever mind asking for some guidance every so often 😉👍👍👍

Real nice work Peter, all these systems confusing each other, i recently had a transit connect doing more or less the same with very similar codes and i had the same issues as the Launch wouldnt talk to the adblue SCR system even tried Forscan still no go (i checked the quality with a refractometer and it was mainly screen wash) missfill i cleaned out the whole system refilled it but still it was not happy, i took it for a road test which then allowed the vehicle itself to do the rest and clear the final not start in XXX miles, you are as sharper than anyone i know but are great at working through all the systems, excellent job keep up the great work

That sensor at the top by the turbo is a 02 sensor. It only has one nox sensor downstream. Great video. 👍

It can be hard to know if they are fixed nowadays without clocking up a few miles & in this case it was easier leave it out to the customer and get it back after a week or so, which did help sort out all his problems. Glad you enjoyed it though 🙏🙏🙏👍

Hi Pete great video boy I like that you take the time to test and understand ye system a lot of tradesmen now are just not upto interpreting or understanding these systems as I trained on hgv with far more complicated Denox systems and scr I get my head round this stuff very easy but I’ve lately come across a bmw 5 series with a fault relating to a pm sensor or particulate matter sensor something I’ve heard of in fords etc but never actually seen or fully understood how it’s measuring the soot just another thing to train up on is it ever going to end oh and I’d never have known there was a strainer filter at that egr cooler either nice wee piece of learning and info thankssss 😊😊

The diesel particulate filter catches soot (pm). The pressure before the Dpf is measured in relation to the pressure after it. High soot content = higher pressure 🤔🤔 Make sense ??

@@Gearhead90 I’m have just being a little research too. And you are correct, a particulate matter sensor does actually measure particulates in the exhaust gas 🤔 They have introduced ‘PM’ measuring in the Netherlands & Germany I believe, which checks to see if anyone has drilled & deleted the Dpf from the vehicle. I didn’t know that they were also fitting sensors in the exhaust system to monitor it too. All very interesting David 🤨 Back to the classroom as you said

Hi Peter, Excellent job, I have the same issue with my 2015 xe with 64km but no way to find the problem, we replaced sensors clean the injector flash the adblue tank and nothin, the xe has the same egr valve pressure as the xf. I would really appreciate if you can give me some advice were to look more. Cheers from Spain

Hi Damian, these systems can be notoriously had to diagnose without some prior experience or training on them. Incorrect diesel fluid quality is caused simply due to the lack of Nox gas reduction when Adblu is being injected. Can you you prove that the Adblu has the ability to inject ??

Hi Peter, Tuesday we are going to check the injecto if is properly working, we check just visually and was not so much crystallization on the injector, was descent, thanks for your answer

All Adblu’s should be the same but the go bad if left in direct sunlight. Could you have used something other than Adblu??
