This also makes a Big difference in the Supercharged 3 liter Jaguar V6. I only have experience with the smaller pulley that requires some light grinding in the snout. If you're going to got through all this work just get the smaller one. It only sounds scary. I used a freaking crappy hand drill with a cutting bit. It took longer to cut off the old pulley. The ecu mod makes a HUGE difference but you have to use a reputable company. $1,500-$1,800.

When do you think you will do the lower pulley? Did you do a remap after putting this pulley on, or did the car take it and make more power already? I imagine the remap would allow for more power since the blower bypass valve probably regulates to the factory boost levels regardless of blower output.

Oh it makes power. Get the smaller one and grind the nose down. It only sounds scary. I used a hand drill and a metal cutting bit. Maybe 30 minutes. I didn't have a pulley remover so I cut off the old one. Putting the new one on is the easiest part. Get a thermal gun and torch it up to the temp the directions say. It slides on like butter until it cools down. The smaller pulley offered by ebay.com/usr/powerhouse-uk made a very noticeable difference in the low-mid and upper rpm range. The ecu makes a bigger difference (if done correctly) but you should still do the pulley. Just because... Cheap, sound, power increase.

@HJsGarage3 жыл бұрын
It is a good point and I see where you're coming from, however as the pulley is an interference fit without heating it up it would never fit nor achieve the interference fit and the pulley has a good weight to it and well built and is pretty thick, I very much doubt it would affect the integrity, also my friend has been running the pulley for some time now without any issues at all

Hi great video. I am doing this job on my 2010 xfr tomorrow. I have bought the tool you use to get the pully off. What was the loud noise as you started pulling the pulley of the shaft? Anything I need to worry about? Cheers
@HJsGarage3 жыл бұрын
@Adam Thanks bud, make sure that you've got the tool absolutely square on the pulley and its abit fiddly and make sure the two screws on the circular part are tight. The pulley is essentially an interference fit on the snout of the supercharger so its really tight on hence why the new pulley needs to be heated up to fit over and immediately cooled down. The noise was nothing to worry about just breaking the taper as its been on there for such a long period of time. As said above just very essential that the puller is on completely square on and the two bolts that keep the circle together are as tight as you can get it without damaging the tool etc. Also when fitting it back on mark the position of the old pulley so it goes the same distance on the snout. If you need any help/guidance, drop me a Instagram Message to @hjgarage I'll be more than happy to help!

Just an update. The job went very well. The puller worked like a dream. Had to heat the pulley in the oven as I didn't have a blow torch. 350 degrees for 50 minutes and the pulley just slid on like a dream. Although before doing that I had to file some high points of aluminium of the snout of the supercharger as there wasn't enough clearance. But after that all is well.

Does anybody know if someone has changer the stock supercharger to a better one??
@garykish89513 жыл бұрын
On the 4.2 Supercharged Jaguar V8, only a handful of people following Andre (pioneer of this mod) have replaced the roots blower for the twin-screws (autorotor, Kenne Bell, Whipple). Look on Google or Jag forums and search under Andre- Kenne Bell Supercharged XKR. Massive power increase. Andre was putting out 700+ rear wheel dyno sheets but that was years ago. He might be much higher now as he can't stop himself. On the 5 liter Supercharged Jags, the TVS is already an incredible supercharger. Increase the boost and take off the ecu limiters from a reputable company. When Eaton releases a larger version it should match what the big twin-screws are giving as the TVS is a hybrid design between the roots and twin-screws. Spend some money on the ecu. It makes a huge difference in these motors as Jag really held back tons of power for emissions and mpg. As well as to have something exciting to sell by gradually raising the power in new special edition models they release every few years.

Great video! I thought most of the upgrade pulleys have a smaller inside diameter inset on back and require grinding the s/c housing for them to fit.
@garykish89513 жыл бұрын
Depends on how much you want to increase the boost. I've gone with the smaller ones a was able to grind the nose down with only a power drill and a metal cutting bit. The right bit is the most important part. Powerhouse UK supplies the template. Very easy for the power increase which is extremely noticable throughout the curve. It's not only on the bottom of the curve like some say. It's everywhere.
@stephenwhite54443 жыл бұрын
@@garykish8951 with the smaller pulley that requires the nose grinding do you think it may over spin the supercharger? I was looking at a small one on Ebay by QualitySuperchargers that requires the nose grinding....but I started reading where the additional rpms pushes it out of its efficiency and generates a lot of extra intake heat. It doesnt seem to me like the smaller pulley would cause that....especially with a stock crank pulley. Wondering your thoughts on that. Also, how it the driveability? Is it as smooth as stock on and off throttle? I'm doing a pulley and green isolator at the same time. Just stock tuning for now.
