This. I got two counterfeit Xbox 360 controllers that were represented as being official. I requested a return and selected "Item not as described" for both of them, along with pictures and an explanation of how I knew they were counterfeit. The seller offered a discount but I refused it. Then, eBay gives you a free shipping label to print off and once they see it's delivered, they refund you. I also reported the listing and it was gone within 24 hours.

With ebay, if somebody tries to send you something different from what they advertised, you can either return (if they allow it) or dispute it to get a refund. I've done this when sellers have tried to scam me before. Worked out fine.

One tip for eBay shopping: reverse image search. If someone’s selling bootlegs, they’re most likely using images from other sales, which means you can reverse image search. AND PLEASE LEAVE REVIEWS, if you get scammed, others may be getting scammed as well, it’s important to spread this info, especially in the comments.

could always do a charge back on scams like that people dont realize. if they advertise something and you get something else just talk with your bank show them what they were selling vs what you got and they often will just charge back the money also tell ebay you got scammed and your going to charge back cause often times they will do it for you if you have the proof

Once I ordered a Totodile plush and when it arrived it was so lumpy and clearly had been opened and sewn shut again. And I sew. So I opened it and it had been filled with chunks of foam. Tossed that. I bought an MP36 Megatron from eBay. I paid slightly under the regular retail price and was super excited. MP36 Megatron has become super hard to find and is an incredible figure. I waited a few weeks and when I came home from work one day, my dad told me there was a package for me!! I rushed to my room and found an envelope with a sliver of cardboard in it. If you get scammed on eBay, you can demand one of two things: The original item you were promised Or your money back I wanted that scamming fucker to go through hell trying to find me a real one, but after a few days a gave me my money back.

As a transformers mega fan, I feel ya. I’ve gotten plenty of those. Thing is, you either send it back, or enjoy it! Also, MP are always pains to find. I suggest asking your local shop if they have any good sellers.
