Touhou 4 - Lotus Land Story - Perfect Extra Stage

A run of LLS's extra stage without dying or bombing.
First freaking attempt after the pacifist run.
For strategies, the end of stage bulletspam can be dodged with the same movements everytime.
For the rest I pretty much already said on the pacifist vid, so yeah.
There were actually quiet a few close calls.

@TheRecoloredEevee The canonical first "maid" is Ruukoto in Phantsmagoria of Dim.Dream(TH3) who is the robot maid that reimu receives from Yumemi. Mugetsu dresses like a maid, but is according to ZUNs comment on her musical theme probably not a maid.

There were actually three maids before Sakuya: Ruukuto, Mugetu, and tecnically, Sakuya is an expy of Yumeko. VIVIT from the seuhou series might count.

I see quite a bit of CAVE influence in the pc98 era Shinki's devil's recitation phase, for example, reminds me of dodonpachi stage 6 boss's nasty bullshit attack In both you have a pattern restricting your movement while you need to avoid aimed bullets Also, a lot of pc98 patterns are affected by your position while not being aimed direcrly, something CAVE really likes to do Also, ZUN himself said that he was inspired by dodonpachi during the pc98 Era and that this is why he turned the games into bullet hells rather than breakout clones In ybe windows era he developed his own style pf danmaku tho, which is vastly different

"Bad Apple!!" is the stage 3 theme of the "4th Project Shrine Maiden", or as most people call it: Touhou 4. almost, if not all Touhou music (extremely popular as they are) has been remade, remixed, or modernized in some other way by the games' fanbase. also many of the music have had songs written for them. the version of "Bad Apple!!" found at /watch?v=ZF9cxhiFw3M which you may be referring to, was performed by nomiko.

The main trouble with her is dependent on how well you know your hitbox. (outside of her going berserk) she likes to use stress-style attacks, to quote the grimoire of Marisa. Not hard to dodge, but you can't evade them by going around, you have to go through.

Touhou 4: LLS is a pretty decent/alright-ish game. It's way better than the first three games, imo. The improvement over them is notable. it was fun on easy mode but got a little frustrating on normal mode as usual. It would've been good if it wasn't for the random annoying lag and bullets flying at mach 3 speed. Most of the patterns were bearable, but with a recipe like that, once you see the bullets flying at you, it's already too late. I beat it on easy with 3 deaths then on normal with 2 continues. For some reason I didn’t get a 6th stage but I don’t really care. Don’t even get me started on the extra stage, lol. While it’s insane to try for the first time, and the music is solid, I can’t even imagine how hard it is with all of that ridiculous lag and mach 4 bullets everywhere. Well, it's a PC-98 game with some flaws and aspects that haven’t aged well so it's not really surprising. At least it improved a lot upon 1, 2, 3 but i wouldn't really recommend it to anyone. I'm just going to try the extra stage and then move on to 5 (Wow, that extra stage was actually insane. I don’t know what in the world was going on, but i died right at the end of the white orb midboss, lol)

you can't blame the lag on the game at all, just switch emulators at that point also lls is one of (imo) the easiest touhou games out there so idk about the mach 3 speed part, but this comment is 3 months old so your opinion maybe different now

Skill level here is a bit broken. If you start the level and just bomb as soon as something is on the screen and die everytime you run out of bombs you will still get over 60

Fun fact, the highest possible skill level is 150, and it's entirely dependent on score. The title is Lucifer-level shooter. 150 I think is around 60,000,000 points?

Seriously? I've never had that problem. Most of the bullets are white and the backgrounds are usually very dark shades of colours.

I've never had this problem and have been able to beat all PC-98 games on Lunatic after practice. Only problem I've ever had with the quality of the game is Story of the Eastern Wonderland's Extra on Rika's third attack when she surrounds you with a border of blinking death balls while shooting bullets at you in a random direction really fast. The blinking of the balls combined with the white bullets and the black background made it really hard to see anything.
