I hate the argument that feminism is equality because it's defined as that. North Korea is defined as a democracy based on its name. Democratic People's Republic of North Korea. Does that make it so? No. Feminism has some of the most batshit insane people who ever lived associated to their group and were allowed to freely spread their ignorance. Mary Daly is one example. She was a professor of Women's Studies at Boston College for over 30 years and held the belief that men were inherently less intelligent than women and should be wiped off the face of the planet. Women who actually helped out other women has since long left the cult and actively speak up against it, like Erin Pizzey who established the first battered women's shelter. When she dared to suggest that men suffer in domestic disputes as well, she and her family received death threats from feminists and was forced to flee England to survive. Before she was able to escape, her dog was hung with a rope and gutted just outside of her door with a message in the dog's blood that read: "Traitor".

My husband still hold doors for me because he wants to and I still cook him dinner every night because I want to. He lifts heavy objects and opens jars because that's what he's better at and I memorize appointments and do our administration because that's what I'm better at. We have physical and mental differences that are partially due to gender and we're comfortable with that. It just works for us because we are filling each other's flaws perfectly. We're equal in a sense that neither of us thinks of or treats the other like the lesser gender. We're just in perfect understanding with our differences while still having mutual respect. Ofcourse I'm not saying everyone is or should be like that. Everyone is different in their own ways, not just gender. Everyone has their own harmony. I'm just saying that even the traditional way can be an equal one :)

@alex2944310 жыл бұрын
there are no well-informed liberal feminists that I'm aware of. The extent of the mis-information of things like the fictitious wage gap, the blunt neglect of mens issues in their hunt for 'equality' (in criminal court, the majority of violent crime, in academic achievement, in reproductive rights etc) and the straight-up sexism of things like teaching boys 'not to rape' (immediately implying that all men are rapists to the core) - these things are pretty common to the entire movement... if you want equality, you definitely shouldn't call yourself a feminist.

i stand by the fact feminism is equality, but here is the problem, ladies. you have to stop telling this to guys, and start telling it to girls. because really the group responsible for making guys go against feminism are the extremist women saying all kinds of sexist shit then claim it to be in the name of feminism. start with them, educate your girls. because it doesn't matter how many times you *tell* a guy about all that equality jazz when there are self-proclaimed feminists out there *proving* they want more than equality.
@abishaakmal745510 жыл бұрын

@abishaakmal745510 жыл бұрын
Sex equality is when male and female presume as the same sex. While the gender equality doesn't. There are still specified gender role that differenciates us, eg the majority of construction worker is male bec of the physical task, or the pre school teacher mostly female bec women tends to be more caring. Or the simplest example women nurturing her offspring while her man works to provide his family. Its mostly because theres a role for both gender. if not why do we exist as male and female.

I support feminism, however I feel that a lot of people misconstrue what it really means. There are a lot of women that take feminism to mean that they want to lower men rather than bring up women. I've met "feminists" who truly believe that all men are inherently evil and think that women should be under them. Not the case at all. You can't fight for equality and inequality at the same time. Womens rights and such is a human issue, not a woman issue. When you make it all about women what incentive do some men have to help you fight for equality? None. To fight for equality you need the support of men, and you can't do that when you are alienating them.

Pretty much everyone supports the "dictionary definition" of feminism. However that is not the feminism informing government policy, cultural propaganda and perversion of the education system to favour girls. Boy performing better than girls? "Fix it!" Girls performing better than boys? "Equality!". Look up Karen Straughn's message to "Nice Feminists" on KZbin. It explains a lot.
@watchonjar10 жыл бұрын
we can play the definition game and the not all feminist game all we want but as a collective looking at the fact that all opportunities that feminism has had to help male victims(on the issues they advocate for) they have either been neglected or harmed by feminist advocacy and so feminism is about female privileged nothing more egalitarianism is about equality for all
