As for buying the rights, I think they mentioned it was quite amicable. It's not like CH could do more episodes of Jake and Amir without Jake and Amir, so they weren't going anywhere with that IP.

Next Episode: Rick Fox comes into an attempt to take a portion of Headgum due to Amir’s debt with him (which was caused by Rick as his bookie). Amir is already amidst a coy argument between his eternal wish to be BFF & insecure opposition Jake. Amir is already in a Chef's attire (for whatever reason). Rick Fox kicks in the door, takes 10 seconds to take his time to sit next to a hostile Amir. *Amir's hands up in surrender to pass the reins to Rick* Amir was throttled with rage, for w/e reason takes a backseat to Rick Fox firmly planting himself between the two mid-conversation. (Insert plot point for Jake) Jake is not willing to deal with this anymore; threatens Rick with crushing an egg, Rick pleads not to hurt his son; his wife kicks in the door off the hinges. Jake, of course, fearing his situation, throws it out the window, lands in Eater Piefell in the mouth. Rick screams in agony and charges at Eater Piefell. Credits.
