Yeah! Another great video! Talking about fanart, I just finished #EastCoastComicCon and had a blast. There was an artist who came by my table and we had a chat and he was complaining about the crowd and sales. Then I asks him what he considered great sales, he slipped the tongue and told me he once sold 1600 prints in one show and usually his sales are around 800-900 prints/con. I didn't get to walk to his table as I was super busy but there you go. Fan art prints and let's just assume if he sells one at $5 USD. That's $8k. (^___^) And I know his not the only one. There's a few people who can pull that off in conventions, maybe not in the thousands but you know.

+Jason Brubaker Yeah well I understand where you're coming from. I'm in the same situation as Jake Parker; I just love the characters and I just don't see them being drawn in my style so I do it. Don't do it for the profit because if you don't like doing it, in the long run it will wear you down mentally and physically. If you're uncomfortable then don't force yourself. The best way to start doing this is to just do fanart of the things you like, it can be anime, tv shows, indie comics,etc. Doesn't have to the current trend always. Also think of it in the another way. If Marvel came to you and saw Remind and Sithrah and they are in the process of revamping maybe say teen titans and they think your style would be amazing cos it has never been done before and wants you to do a cover of it. Would you say no? If your answer is yes/ maybe, then think of doing fan art as just that; imagining these companies approaching you to ask for a cover. Then do a bunch of those originals, and file them away and bring to cons. When the crowd comes by you can use them as conversations, then lead it into your work so they get to know you. You don't have to do prints like everyone do.
