It's a character. Amir's character is an asshole. He also hurt several people, he stabbed Jake, kicked his tongue off, threw hot coffee in Rosie's face, said gay as an insulr lots of times and also used other other slurs . It's just a character. He's bad and that's why jake wished him to drop dead several times

do you think the character of Amir in this universe is written with a sense of just morals? No. He's a despicable scummy desperate loser who shits his pants and doesn't wash them for a year. If you want to take the high ground go do it somewhere else man, realise art can have stakes and light and dark shades in people to highlight differences both good and bad.
