Good enough for me. I bought the same model after hearing this and now the search is over. That coming from a banjo player looking for THE TONE is rare! Sounds great. Yates' banjos have an extra "HONK" to their tone that I really like. I have a maple one. I'm assuming that this one is mahogany? You didn't specify in the video.

I've just acquired in England at very reasonable cost an unplated no holes(well one 😂)Yates V33 tone ring,along with what purports to be a Jimmy Cox(RIP)nickel-plated one piece flange,and what purports to be a Cox prototype Old Growth block construction(seemingly mahogany)rim.Adam Cox has subsequently informed me that the rim is certainly not out of his late grandfather's Maine studio.I do have several other USA banjo parts to turn into completed instruments but after hearing Robbie the Yates ring may well jump the queue.

Yates is very finicky about quality and tone rings. A master builder or you buy Chinese crap with false claims it's made in America.
