Term limits would result in even less accountability to a congressman's voters because a large portion of congress would always be in their last term as a "lame duck." If they don't need to run for re-election, they don't have to vote the way their constituents ask them to. You want to see a REAL runaway congress? Then support term limits. Term limits also do nothing to address the root of the problem which is the people themselves who keep electing bad congressmen repeatedly. If term limits are installed tomorrow, the way people vote would not change at all, and the next round of bad politicians would ensue, also kicking out the good congressmen, making the problem even worse. There are two camps: take away people's rights to be represented by whomever they elect, or educate the people on who is best to elect; Education of the population is always the best option--not taking away the people's right to be represented. P.S. Term limits were in the U.S.'s original founding document, the Articles of Confederation, and term limits were thrown out and not adopted in the U.S. Constitution because they were a bad idea.

The House and Senate earn a base salary, free medical, housing allowance, car allowance, access to the best schools for their kids, free security, free air transportation, and per diem to pay for their food, hotels and even a clothing allowance. Then they get to deduct their own actual expenses, including lawyer and accountant fees off of their taxes, and defer any capital gains.

Terrorist attacks daily in retaliation for, get this: IDF land grabs, which are in retaliation for: Hamas Terrorist attacks. Who has the best legal claim to most of Israel? Israel, but that doesn't absolve their government of underhanded tactics meant to displace Arabs. Neither is truly in the right to begin with. HOWEVER hamas has isolated itself politically from the international community due to their blatant disregard for human rights AND corruption: Instead of using the billions of dollars in foreign aid from the US AND EU for internal growth and infrastructure, hamas used it to fuel more war against israel, and had intentionally put civilians lives at risk by staining command posts within civilian sense areas. Therefore, the US will support Israel over hamas because unlike hamas , they don't misuse funds provided to them. Why should the US trust a government that lies and abuses its own citizens for personal gain? Blame Biden all you want, Hamas did this to themselves.
