I obviously don’t know you, but I feel like we would be good friends. I say that because I think that most people on this channel would agree with that statement. Your awesome self comes through your videos, and you have everything to offer to this world. So keep fighting for your sobriety and I congratulate you for turning something that is potentially negative into a great positive. Look at the great community that YOU yourself have built here! I haven't had my iPad for very long (it's the only Apple/Mac layout I have, my main rig is a Windows gaming rig. Because music is as or maybe even more demanding than gaming, which I learned fast once I switched to DAWs from Boss BR 1600 and 800, which i still have for backup. I didn't know it was that hard for computers to make sounds, that was strange to notice). I need to get 2nd nature to iPad and become a natural like you. One big problem is if I barely touch the screen, the GUI goes rolling, which has bored me and made me break out my laptop again lol. The paid plugins in iOs are way cheaper, I piled on a lot of them. You should get the Eventide pitch and chorus stuff if you haven't already. And I have about 90% of everything Yonac make; their gear is really wild, their synths and 60s organs, and they have this crazy slide guitar app. Excellent dev.

I love the simplicity of MixBox, but be aware it can quickly add hundreds of megabytes in size to any GarageBand project. I had one file that was about 35 MB before using it, then it quickly mushroomed to more than 300 MBs. It’s great, but a space waster on an iPad.

👋 hejsan. Hello there really enjoy your videos , I have a question do you happen to know a good but cheap mastering app that is not required to be connected to a daw or aum etc. hade bra! 👊
@JakobHaq3 жыл бұрын
Hi! Check out Grand Finale by Klevgränd produkter. Its a mastering app. There are more out there but I can’t remember. I suggest you join the “iPad musician” group on Facebook and ask around there for other alternatives. You could also ask on Audiobus forum. . However, a lot of people are going to tell you that you should learn more about the process of mastering and not use a mastering app. Me personally, I’d say it’s up to you how you want to go about it. I master my music in Cubasis and I’m using FabFilter plugins to do it. . Apps like Grand finale are great when you want something done quick, but if you don’t understand what the app is doing and/or how things work (compressors EQ, limiter etc) then it can be hard reaching a result that you’re happy with. Happy hunting!

Hi Jakob, do you know if it is possible to use the iPad and mix box as “external hardware” with a desktop DAW. For instance you have your drums recorded on 12 tracks you send them to a bus and some how your iPad with mix box running, say 4 modules is on this stereo bus. Essentially what I am asking is, is there way to use the iPad and mix box just like a 500 series rack? And if so how?
@JakobHaq3 жыл бұрын
Yes you’d need two sound interfaces. One for the iPad and one for desktop. You’d route outputs from Desktop sound interface output to the input of the iPad sound interface. Then route the iPad sound interface output to the input of the desktop sound interface. Now you can use the iPad as a plugin module. You can either run Mixbox as stand alone or you can load up AUM and run mixbox there (or any other apps/plugins that you want to use. I’ve done this many times when I wanted to offload heavy reverb plugs onto another iPad. I have a main iPad with my session on it or whatever I’m using. I then route the audio through a second iPad with two sound cards and use the second one for fx etc.
