Yummy, this is similar to how we make ours in Sierra Leone 🇸🇱 . We add lots of proteins (Smoked or fried fish, Chicken, goats, beef, etc.) and served with rice. I tried the Jamaican version with salted fish andfried dumplings, it hit me right through my bones. 😊

Hi MissDeb, my Dear Grandmother (in mind) as a little girl made the best fried dumplings. We would eat them without anything, however, I can’t make them to save my life😂 I will definitely try your method on the weekend. I will let you know how they turn out. Thanks for sharing, ❤️❤️❤️ to you and the family. 😋😋😋

This is very versatile, with fried dumplings it looks like American southern cooking. But if it were steamed cornmeal dumplings (or banmi )and callaloo then it is more African meal. Love Jamaican soul food! Olivechopst from instagram!

Well done Debbie; the only thing I would have loved is for you to open the dumpling to see the texture on the inside. I will use the water technique as you demonstrated, truly a wonderful collaboration of what your mom did, as well as your experience as an accomplished cook over the years. I will let you know my results with the water technique.
