That deadlift technique is so slick, I know he's strong af but he makes it look so easy. No one pulls sumo this fast, it's supposed to be slow off the floor
@armwrestlingfan68043 жыл бұрын
Why is it supposed to be slow?
@leedowner22493 жыл бұрын
@@armwrestlingfan6804 I don't know the biomechanics of it but sumo is typically slow off the floor and faster at lockout, conventional being the other way around
@armwrestlingfan68043 жыл бұрын
@@leedowner2249 maybe because they do the stiff legs like he was telling Larry about instead of using your quads like springs?
@bonelessempire14513 жыл бұрын
The funny thing is, is that IS slow for him.
@DCJayhawk573 жыл бұрын
@@armwrestlingfan6804 Watch someone like Stefi Cohen, she has a similar style to Jamaal with quad drive but is the slowest off the floor I've ever seen. I think Jamaal is unique in his explosiveness in that position. He also takes a narrower stance than some which allows more external rotation and keeps hips closer to the bar. That being said, will have to try being more over the bar instead of behind it to see if that helps my sumo out. Sumo is my primary movement on my second deadlift day and as I fatigue I tend to go into more of a stiff leg position and really have to fight to keep hips from rising too early. Some of that is lost tightness in higher rep sets, but would think I might be too far behind the bar since I'm a taller lifter. If I try to keep a vertical shin angle my hips end up pretty far back and it makes it harder to initiate leg drive.
