What’s impressive is that he looks like a bodybuilder, but has world class powerlifting strength.
@billj45257 ай бұрын
He looks less like one once he gets above 280, but he's still a lot leaner than those powerlifters. They don't care about being lean at all. I know Larry has gotten to 300 before, and he didn't like it because he wasn't as lean and didn't feel as good at 315. Keep in mind he's not as lean even at 275, so it's not like he's competition ready doing these lifts, he still has the advantage of eating a lot. As long as they're similar weight it's not a disadvantage to be leaner. If you're very lean it is, but Larry is not very lean like a bodybuilder in these, just leaner than the guys he's competing against.

There is a reason it is valid to choose your style. A good sumo lifter will never pull conventional the same amount nor will a good conventional lifter pull the same weight on sumo. The conventional records are pretty similar too the sumo ones (in fact a little higher). It depends on your body type. Eddie Hall said he could never in his life pull 500 KG sumo for example. If your body type is best for conventional, you won't pull sumo that much. Long story short: sumo totally fine in comp.
