James, Can I suggest looking at the hole more when you putt than focusing at the ball? This will help with speed and line. I used this method even with short shots and chipping and my accuracy became much better. I would also spend a lot of time working on 3'-5' putting at a golf tee then moving to putting at hole which by then it will look rather huge and confidence will build. GL my friend.
@Pentelesh4 жыл бұрын
Regarding your knockdown -shot problem; I had the similar issue earlier and was able conquer it by thinking I leave the club behind my back as long as it can be. Like playing a draw on full shot and feel like exiting more right. That lowers my hands, shallows the shaft and gives me the control to send it straight. If I would film my shot that probably don't happen but that "feel" cured my left-over-left knowckdown shots.

Ignore the muppets James. At least you are giving it a go. This format is spot on and very honest👊
@marcusharry1674 жыл бұрын
Hey James, I hate giving tips or “suggestions” I guess, because you are probably a better playing than me at the end of the day... but I also had a issue with missing left with half shots... and I worked out that because I didn’t finish my backswing fully the club face was still partially closed. So I started exaggerating open the club face on half - 3/4 shots and it works great for me. Everyone is different though... Love your channel and you’re doing great mate!!! All the best! 👍🏼
@3rdgroove4 жыл бұрын
Love the commentary, and good camera work! Yeah, that 3/4-swing at full speed sounds like a good idea. Missing long that much is a no no. Keeping the ball below the hole seems really important at the Shire.

James it’s clear if you watch this why your half shots go left , your shoulder stops turning bro around and behind , and the club always is way out in front , and to get back to the ball you bring it straight back down to the left . When you full swing your body really turns and you drop down the inside and come out to the ball . Look at replay , 👍🏻.

Tough day, dude. I’ve been in too many of those positions in which you found yourself and I can confirm they are enough to make a grown man cry. Repeatedly. Curious as to what scores your playing partners made, because do you think that how they play and score can affect your play both adversely and helpfully. It’s mind games even between players in the same group, it can affect your game seeing someone hit a certain shot and thinking should I try that or stick to my plan?

James, you might be frustrated with your putting but your stroke has outstanding tempo, beautiful. Also, you can clearly flight the living shit out a golf ball as I’ve watched repeatedly on your range videos. Your an aggressive swinger so be AGGRESSIVE on half shots. Choke up on the club al Sergio. I started doing this 7 years ago and it took my game to another level. Same strong swing but distance controlled by gripping down. You have all the skill in world to do this. You have an outstanding ability to flight full shots, this will allow you to do the same on shorter ones. A+++ attitude btw.

As I'm an 18 handicap hacker, I have no idea what it must be like to play at that level, so I may be talking utter tosh, but lack of knowledge has never stopped me spouting off before, so... I imagine that it takes time to get used to and being comfortable being in that environment. I suspect that, with each tournament that you enter, it will become less hard, (though it'll never be easy). I wish you all the very best of luck in your progress.

Been enjoying your vids for a while now bro, sending love from Australia! I agree with you in setting up with feet open (but shoulders square to target), definitely helps me clear my body and strike the ball better, sounds counterintuitive but I can swing more in - to - out through the ball relative to the target line, if I try and set up square I end up pulling everything.

Just focus on your game. Its all mental. I remember one late evening on nordic tour. 20 people left and it was getting dark. This was back in 2009 or something. They played on my home course. Lemke won the playoff. He was known for being a long hitter. It was 3rd or 4th playoff hole. I watched him hit his tee shot on a par 5. It was only me and him on that tee. I knew he hit a massive bomb since landing area was 3rd shot landing area. I went home after tee shot but I read day after he won on that hole. He got an invitational to Scandinavian masters European tour event. When I think of it today. There was no drama. Just a golf shot and twilight. But still a whole lot on stake. But to me it was work day after. So it had nothing to do with me. Took my car went home. Never heard of him again until last year now he played on European tour. He must been struggling on challenge tour for years. Funny game! Point being..stay patient.

@JamesWiltshire4 жыл бұрын
When it comes to yardages inside that distance I can guess pretty much everyome playing on here will be going by feel. Maybe make some practice swing thinking of the yardage on what swing it needs but when you step in it's all about feel. Making different length swings for yardages can be a good way to start to get feels for yardages on the range though!
