Sat here in tears watching this. I was a Police Officer in the 90s, and this is as low as a person can stoop, to kill a child. Venables never learned his lesson, and I'm sure people will agree that a permanent 'cure' should be enacted for him and others like him. This poor baby must have suffered terribly before he died, and it keeps me awake some nights, even now, at his suffering. My deepest sympathy goes to his family, and my utmost respect goes to you, Paul, as this must have been deeply troubling and upsetting. Thank you

I'm in Chile, S.America.... but originally from the UK....This case has always caused me the same pain as did the Moors Murders....I lived in Ashton-U-Lyne....to the east of Manchester and close to where they committed those heinous crimes.... Hattersley, Hyde, Manchester. The same housing estate...where two policewomen were shot and blasted to death by Dale Cregan...already a murderer..... A lying, low-life of a human being. (That a dog's turd would reject.....sorry.... no intention to offend dogs.) Even being so many thousands of miles away.... I am still there, in my heart...... and feeling the pain of those families. And I always will. Fiona Bone and Nicola Hughes: May Your God Bless You. And hold you dear. As I do in my own heart. I think of you both....often. Can anyone tell me why Dale Cregan should not hang? My son was only one year older than little James. At around the same time that this happened, I to turned away to pay for something in our shopping mall. We were both lucky, as my son had ducked inside one of those kids rides they use to have in our malls back then. It was very close to where I was standing, but I didn’t know that so the panic that washed over me was so great, I can still remember it to this day. No matter how many years go by, I always get a lump in my throat from crying to much every time I watch something about James. Thank you for taking us there Paul, it feels like we all finally got to pay our respects to James. Also I don’t think age matters, if that’s what you choose to do, then you don’t deserve to be allowed out again after such a calculated, vicious murder. From what I hear, one of them has been reoffending constantly, so it’s only a matter of time before he kills again probably. Thanks again, James will never be forgotten the world over. ❤️Jodie 🇦🇺

One of the saddest story I have heard so far, I can’t control my anger to the killer boys even they were children too. But the worser thing is how come UK Justice release those guys after 8 years only. The reason they said is they are not dangerous for the society anymore. Is it an enough reason to be released? The point is what did they do in the past, not what they will do in the future. They should be inside life time long, when they become 18 they should be sent to adults jail. This decision given by justice system is so sick. I feel like James is my son .

This one brought tears to my eyes, Paul, because I remember it well. A work colleague of mine at the time was called up for Jury Service a few days after this terrible event and we all thought that she was going to be at that trial, having to listen to the terrible things to which the young James was subjected by Jon Venables and Robert Thompson (as they were then known); thankfully, she was not called to that particular case but I feel for those who were called, as it would probably have left them traumatised for the rest of their life. James would be coming up to 33 years old now and would, more than likely, have his own Family; all of this ripped away from him at the tender age of 2. My heart goes out to his Mother and Father for their tragic loss. Rest in peace. little James and may you play among the Angels for eternity. 🕯

Agree wholeheartedly.....that vile Jon Venables is totally screwed up, they're both monsters.... but the fact that he's a repeat offender.... he needs to be put out of his misery.... just a broken human being....I don't think they can be rehabilitated.

I was 9 years old when this happened I can remember it so clearly. It’s stayed with me ever since. Denise has done amazing keeping her precious boys memory alive. He’ll never be forgotten. Sending love to Denise, Ralph and all their families ❤

I saw Denise Bulger during the summer. She looks tired and sad. No wonder. Difficult for her to move on knowing one of them is free somewhere and the other is repeatedly given parole, despite being a continual danger to children. I remember this case clearly back in the day and that's what launched 'child leads' onto the market. Its like a pet lead where your child is kept attached to you. Can hardly believe what those boys did to James. Shocking. RIP little man

Reins for children were introduced long before this. We all kept a closer eye on our babies after this and watched out for young children you saw alone to see idf a parent was nearby. My daughter is 2 weeks older than James. Now married with her own babies. I often think of the life that could have been for James. May he Rest in Peace

@Adarkershadeofrainbow I doubt she does they both would be done by now if she did not by her but by people in the community

@Adarkershadeofrainbow I find that difficult to believe tbh. Im sure Denise wouldnt be worried about breaking an injunction law vs having proper justice. If they did that to my kid I wouldnt hesitate in breaking the injunction and telling a few people in the community over a drink in the local pub

@Adarkershadeofrainbow I'm surprised their families haven't been harassed I'm guessing they live in the Liverpool area.

Paul, I remember this horrific incident so well. To say: shocking, heinous, despicable would never be enough. The perpetrators should never have released, ever. May James RIP, prayers for the Bulger family. Never totally possible, but I hope they have found some peace. Until the day all reunited in heaven 🙏

Very sad that such a young life snatched away. His mum has been so brave in speaking about what happened, hope she finds peace somehow. As for the killers, what can you say? Are these lads evil or did something happen to turn them into murderers. Myself, they shouldn’t have been released and I hope we don’t come to regret it. Thanks Paul, very respectful as ever.
