Let's be honest. Yes you are correct however the margins weren't 10-20 percent. Reagan won in a landslide. He carried every state except Minnesota. The country wasn't divided. Reagan also won the popular vote by 18 points. Democrats still lost however it's hardly a mandate for Republicans.
