Way before the Eagles. The James Gang was Joe's Baby. Then everyone wanted him to join their Band. The Eagles were already a top 5 Band, but after Joe Walsh dissolved The James Gang, he joined The Eagles, and had an immediate impact. He gave them that Bad Boys element the Eagles never had. While he was never considered "The guy", he changed that Band for the better. Joe Walsh was the missing ingredient they were looking for. After that, they were at the top, or very near the top of Rock's pecking order.
@flyingburritobro684 жыл бұрын
827dusty Joe didn’t dissolve the James Gang. First off it wasn’t his band. It was founded by drummer Jimmy Fox thus the name James Gang. Thank you kind sir, I do enjoy seeing you enjoying the good old tunes I enjoyed when young and ever since. That's a lot of enjoyment! When stationed in Ol' Miss, I was lucky to catch the James Gang 3 times in New Orleans in 1971. Most of the details have faded after 40 years, (orange sunshine was involved,) but they were the best shows I ever experienced. Clear in my mind is Joe jumping around the stage, and in the middle of songs, blending/taking over the bass guitar, and the drums, adding piano as well. Standing in front of the stage, feeling the force of those Marshall amps, best times ever. Still one of favorite bands. My #1 guitar hero (sorry, kids.) I think the James gang broke up shortly after, and Joe headed the band Barnstorm in 1972 as well as solo work (I think The Confessor was a bit of that,) _then_ he joined the Eagles, making very good more better. (Apologies, grammar purists.) Thank you again, stay safe, and I hope your enthusiasm continues.

Love. This. Damn. Song. One of the few songs that bring back some of the very few good memories from the 70s.

Jamel you totally watched the wrong version of this. Your video shows several pics of that live version that you should have watched instead.

Agree he needs to watch the live version.The energy in the live version is tremendous not to mention Jimmy Fox tearing up the drums.

If that's the version that has all the great drum fills I agree.

When I bought my first Les Paul, I found a video by Joe Walsh on how to set one up. I still do it that way today because if it's good enough for Joe, it's good enough for me. Highly underrated player.

Stevie Nicks has called him the love of her life. And she's had many loves. She wrote 'Has Anyone Ever Written Anything for You' for him. When they were together, Joe took her out to a park and showed her a little water fountain. He told her the story of losing his young daughter in an car accident and dedicated the fountain to 'those who aren't tall enough to reach'. I'm paraphrasing.

50 years old and sounding fresh as a daisy because of TALENT. All of these groups from so long ago just ageless.

Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac still says that Joe Walsh was the love of her life. The first time she met him, she climbed onto his lap and they instantly fell in love. I think it's one of those situations where the flame was so hot, it burned itself out.

Joe was in the James Gang from 1968 until he left the band in 1971. He then formed a band called Barnstorm in the early 70's although their albums were marketed as Joe Walsh solo albums. He did "Rocky Mountain Way" on one of the solo/Barnstorm albums. Then by 1976 he joined the Eagles.

In the City by Joe Walsh is amazing. It was played at the end of the 1970s street gang movie, The Warriors.
