I'd argue the lack of dialogue in the trailer is because James wanted us to focus more on the vibe of the trailer/film rather than the writing - because he says he intends for this film to be a more hopeful and uplifting. You can kinda get that vibe from the music in the trailer, along with the scene where the child in a foreign country is holding up a Superman flag while calling for his help.

Gunn then basically confirmed it by saying "does it really affect the movies enjoyment". Ultraman is basically supposed to be a clone of Superman made by Lex who gets released by Argus to detain Superman. He will deteriorate into Bizzaro later on in the film.

Let me tell you as snyderverse fans Snyder want to do superman sequel but WB told him to do BvS movie and then they give him script from 2003, so Chris terrio were brought in to make that old script works, even with great script writer won't do good writing if they were told to rewrote someone else script. Later after finished script, BvS script was leaked by DC insider to marvel studios. Which forced terrio to rewrote again in late 2014 before they shooting. This is why BvS got mess up from studios meddling and leakers. Look at ZSJL, it's 100% under Chris terrio and despite it got rewrote but because it's from same writer, it's works well. Terrio said back in 2018, judge his script based on 100% his works, not when Frankeinstein script he was told to rewrote

My personal gripe is the slow motion whenever a superhero uses their power or attacks. I think when more than 1 hero in the movie gets slow motion it'll cause fatigue on me just for seeing too much slow motion. I don't think it looks totally bad, but it does look like TV and that immediately makes me think, "Due to Gunn's ego, he canceled a show that everyone loved so he could make a movie that so far shows us things that the canceled TV show could've done?". "CW with a budget" is spot on!! The suit looks too loose, but even more than that, I think if everyone was totally honest with themselves they'd admit that Snyder spoiled everyone will master class film craft, proper cinematic lighting, proper color grading with contrast (not just high key TV lighting) and a main character that looks like SuperMAN, not SuperBOY. Any haters who know recent comics history are really gonna tell me that Corenswet doesn't look more like adult Jon, than something like Reis's or Jiminez's Superman? Really? I do like Krypto, don't have any problem with his shaggy fur compared to smooth. Don't totally hate Hoult at Luthor. But, Guy Gardner and Hawkgirl look laughably bad with their Mr. Terrific copycat costumes to the point of cringe and embarrassment. Also, and this is really the important part. Besides the color, a nitpick I have that I haven't seen anyone else brings up is that The Suicide Squad, Peacemaker, and Creature Comando seems takes place before this movie and not after. Because in the back of my mind, having SuperMan take place first in the current timeline makes more sense to me for some reason. I know this isn't a origin story but having the first we hear about Super Man which is being shot in put in the ICU doesn't feel right to me. Maybe the movie will clear it up but idk.

I thought the trailer was pretty good Loved seeing some stuff with Superman and Krypto and Superman and Lois. I know James brought in Henry Brahm who did the cinematography for The Flash which I wouldn't blame the issues of that movie on him. Most of it is the visual effects looking rough because of either overworking the VFX team or just rushing it. The Flash did had some decent shots and he has worked with James before on The Suicide Squad, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, Vol 3, the Guardian's Holiday Special and He worked on Roadhouse (2023) James did talk how characters like Guy Gardner, Hawkgirl, Metamorpho and Mr Terrific are just supporting characters for the movie and Superman and Lois are still the main characters. As well as adding that Mr Terrific is said to be important out of the other supporting characters and is to play a big role. I do have some slight concerns when I saw the trailer, but I am hoping it's good.

Nah i loved how snider movies look. Its dark a dull but it brought character to the film but setting the mood and seriousness of a scene! It was shot great other then doomsday 🤢 but this is cool to from what I’ve seen

Some people if not MANY people are going to love this. I already know that I am not one of them. I accept that Snyder's vision will remain unfinished (at least in live action). I have no desire to watch a new iteration of Superman (at this time) Best of luck to the new DCU.

I personally think the trailer looks amazing. Really my only issues are the designs of the other hero's aside from Hawk Girl and Mr Terrific, and the unessary lines on the Superman suit. A side that a pretty good trailer.

My only issues really are just the colors and lenses used, a lot of the colors in a lot of scenes are straight up washed out, TSS had similar colors (in the third act I think) but it fit the vibe of the story and the characters, also disappointed that Metropolis so far doesn't really have that shiny retro futuristic art deco style like in Superpets, but I'm still excited to see it and give it a chance

I'm sorry, but color grating is fully subjective. Of course, there could be color grating that doesn't make sense with the theme of the movie, but we won't know that until the movie's out. You can't just turn off your brain and just slap a filter on the movie that makes everything warmer and bolder and call it style. My interpretation of color grating of this trailer is that it's MEANT to be somewhat real, so Superman stands out in his colorful suit. HE is the difference. HE is meant to make things colorful.The civilians are just normal people like us looking for a ray of hope. You can also see green lanterns power is actually very stylized since he is the one with the ring. Also, there is technically some sort of unique visual effect on the movie, and that's the light of the day (the sun) is exaggeratingly bright, which obviously refers to Supermans powers link to the sun and sun also can be a symbol of hope like superman and in superman comics and EVEN the Snyder stuff sun is usually present.

It's very simple. Some superhero movies balance the screen time of there heroes very well. Exe: Many of the MCU movies. BVS simply did NOT do that. Will James Gunn do that with SUPERMAN? My hope is yes. But we'll have to wait and see.

I have faith that James is going to knock this superman movie out of the park and I'm glad the color grading is light and bright and as for the other heroes James already said that not only is this movie set in an established universe with heroes already in action but it's still going to be a Superman movie not Superman and Friends. And as for the characterization of Superman James said he's not going to reinvent the wheel with Superman because he's aware that people know about Superman and his personality and reasons for fighting crime

not my favorite visually from gunn (as of rn) but i dont quite understand using the flash to beat on it. Flash's issues were a lot less of the actual cinematography itself but rather the horrific effects. The flash is shot quite well, nothing special, but Braham delivers extremely dynamic camera work everytime and hopefully as a whole the visuals of the film blend together. Outside of that though I dont have any big complaints, the teaser did what it should do. It set a tone, gave us footage to look at and look forward to while also announcing itself.

my biggest expectations for this trailer were in the soundtrack department, because John Murphy is an awesome composer, but the fact that they went the easy route of going back to the Donner/William's theme, man, what a letdown. check out stuff like Adagio in D Minor or the 28 Days Later theme, that guy is capable of awesome stuff. he could've easily cranked out an amazing original theme for Superman. he's become Gunn's go-to composer lately, and I feel that his music has become a bit less distinct since (maybe just a coincidence), but I was expecting him to go all out for this.

See, I'm actually really excited for the movie. Everything I've heard and seen so far (other than the John Williams Superman theme, I think it should be left in the past with that older iteration of Superman, but I'm very picky when it comes to score) has me excited. But I kinda don't want to be. I was excited for so long about so many DCEU movies and announcements, and then had to live in a world where the studio behind them constantly fumbled the bag with every BTS decision, interfering too much in the creation of the films, rushing to catch up to the DCU, announcing movies and characters with no stories or scripts written, and after the WB/Discovery merger the cancellation of a movie that was already shot, the further delays of several movies, straight up releasing movies that were unfinished, and Dwayne Johnson swinging his dick around on the set of Black Adam micromanaging a movie that was in development for 15 years to the point of being a complete mess and helping to bring back Henry Cavill spurring an official announcement that he would be returning as Superman for the future of the DCEU completely unaware of the change in leadership behind the scene with the formation of DC Studios and the impending soft reboot that would inevitably recast most if not all characters. I had to watch all that happen, some of that being in the last 2-3 years. And I just don't want to get excited because I don't trust WBD to let James Gunn do his thing when they didn't let Zack Snyder, David Goyer, Christopher Nolan, David Ayer, and probably countless other writers and directors do their thing. I'm just worried. Not for Superman, but for DC. Honestly, as much as I think Paramount has made a bunch of shitty decisions regarding various Star Trek projects in recent years, cancelling VERY promising shows far too early, I'd sooner trust them with DC than WBD. Especially because they clearly still have faith in their most popular IPs, even if they don't know what to do with them. Transformers is doing well, Star Trek is still going strong, and Dexter just got a new prequel and is getting yet another sequel series next year. I just don't like WBD or David Zaslav, honestly. If they would release the Batgirl movie and pay back the tax write off they got from it, I might be a little more hopeful. But they haven't done that.

It’s the exact same ugly color grade as THE SUICIDE SQUAD. I don’t know why Gunn is stuck on this DP/this look now. The weird blown out cream-colored highlights, the gross blue shadows, it’s just garish. I was hoping it was a one-off style experiment in THE SUICIDE SQUAD but it sucks now that it’s here in the foundational DCU film. The aspect ratio doesn’t help - it’s 1.85:1, which is basically a 16:9 HD TV frame size. Maybe that’s why it reminds you of CW content. It would look so much grander if it was CinemaScope 2.39:1 like Donner’s original film
