Harden didn't give anyone fake info. This has always been his play: show up in great shape and make it REALLY awkward for Daryl Morey. Harden has told the Sixers and every media person "I won't ever play for a team that employs Daryl Morey", not I won't ever play for the Sixers. Daryl Morey is now in a position where he knows he will be fired before the season starts if Harden is not traded.

@@MrBubblecake I blame a little bit of everyone that series. Embiid did not play like an MVP, Tobias Harris, Maxey, PJ didn't play well. Harden did have 2 great games, but he also had 5 below average games 2 of which were terrible for him. Coaching was an issue, there was no plan or ball movement. Philly is a tough place to play yes, but I still think he's wanted. If he stays I'm optimistic. I think with Nurse they will play past their potential. If he does end up going to the Clippers though, I don't see them competing unfortunately. Will probably lose a lot of depth trying to get him. We'll see.

The reports aren't wrong, people are INTERPRETING them wrong. I don't think being traded is his #1 desire. He isn't saying I won't ever play for the SIXERS again, it's I won't ever play for a team that employs Daryl Morey. Being in shape makes it more awkward than a fat suit because Morey is operating on a timeline now. If ownership sees that Harden hasn't lost a step from last year and is maybe in BETTER shape, then Morey's best interest is to find a trade partner ASAP before the ownership chooses Harden and fires him.
