yeah, same with romantic love: we usually call anyone who's been close for a while a friend, and some irrelevant relationships "love stories", but when time passes and experiences walking along with it we realize those are huge words and not everyone can be called a true friend. It takes time to realize, but also so see if the bond is truly deep, if it outlasts trouble, argue arguments and dark periods. Once the friendship survived it all we do know we have a brother/sister to lean on, a partner we want to help and wish always the best for, while we know the other part feels the same and would go to war for us. Friendship is one of the sweetest things we can ever experience as humans, and I love it

In 1971 and 1972 I was living in Hong Kong. During that time, I was studying late from 11pm to 1am at night. I turned on the radio during my study and the Hong Kong DJ always played You’ve Got a Friend every night. Thank you James and Carol for being my friends all these years

A friend of mine was telling me a tale when, in his youth, he and a buddy hitched a ride up to a music festival from LA. They got picked up by this funky couple in a VW bus. Shortly after heading up after the ride, this song came on the radio. The gal started singing along with James on the radio. The buddy remarked, "man.....you have a great voice and know this song." She said, "I should know the song.....I wrote it." Yes....Carole King and her husband were on their way north as well. Great memories....great story.
