Thanks +++ Dave for your messages about James as it did give me more insights about his and Jesus’ lives. I can imagine them working together, learning together, praying together, teasing one another and having fun too. I imagine that although James may of appeared at disagreements in the earlier days, it is because, I imagine, James did not really understand all of Jesus’ intentions and His mission - as many did not also. He did later though, as we learned, and I imagine he regretted these past doubts and misunderstandings. I imagine he was very present during Jesus’ crucifixion, to support Him as it may of been possible, and also at minimum, present to take care of Mother Mary and the rest of the family. What a privilige he must of felt when he was one to see and meet Jesus after His resurrection… imagine! That must of been a sublime moment and all of what James had learned in his earlier years with Jesus must of become a profound understanding, life changing as he made the rest of his life and works, a signature of his profoud faith to Jesus and our Father. Dear James is also an inspiration to me. Thanks +++ Dave for sharing this message.

This reminds me of when I worked in a doctor's office. Many of the patients were on welfare. Most of them really needed this assistance. Some openly said they were playing the system. One of the patients told me that her waiting for her check was hard work just as hard as me putting in my eight hour day, 5 days. So she agrees with you. I have a friend that told me I was going to hell because I wasn't "born again". One day, I asked her "how is your mother"? She said, I haven't seen her in over a year. She 94. She was given the vaccine, the mark, and she has no reason to visit. She then told me she stays home reading scriptures and waiting because Jesus was coming any day. I read a book on how to fix my engine but until I go out and do it, I've accomplished nothing.

Dave . Glad to see you’re back in the saddle. Love your simple structure, style, and straightforward approach. One thing that I am always baffled by is how little people refer to the original Greek when studying scripture. Hebrew and Greek are very high context languages with vital nuances that do not translate directly into English. In James 2:14 passage reference says “ faith without works is dead.” The Greek word for works is “ergon” which means to carry out an action due to intent or inner desire. So, what James is saying is that if your faith is real, then Gods love should pour out of you, regardless of wealth, status, etc. on the other hand, if someone says they have faith, but their actions do not reflect the kingdom of God, then they are not truthfull

Great summary. I would like to add that Jesus Mum and relatives didn't think he was "out of his mind". What happened was that Jesus was out with "friends" when he starting talking to the people and apparently the crowd crew bigger and bigger and many where wondering what Jesus was teaching growing increasingly aggressive. His mother and brother that apparently heard it and came around tried to appease the crowd by saying "he's out of his mind"...I would suggest to correct that as Mary definitely had not forgotten what angel Gabriel told her about the "Son of God"...

I got 2 questions my brethren. When the angels appeared to Mary. Announcing that she is to give birth to Jesus . Q 1. Why did she not tell James about this. Q 2. Why did Jesus's not resurrect his biological father.? Great work about James sir !
@DaveRebbettes3 жыл бұрын
Good questions TA. I believe that James was younger than Jesus when the announcement was made so not yet born. Though Mary could have told him and the other siblings later in life. I suspect she did not as we are told that she kept these things hidden in her heart. Also Jesus himself refused to tell others that he was their Messiah for most of his life. He even told demons to keep quiet about who he really was. he came to die that time but next time he will come to rule and reign and there will be no silence on the matter. As you suggest it seems that Joseph died at some point. There are plenty that died and were not raised. Jesus did what his father showed him to do. We don't know why Joseph was not raised and others were. I am sure we will find out one day what the good reason was. Dave

@@DaveRebbettes You sure I'm your hero? God is first, nothing I know is important because knowledge itself keeps you from God. God is the absence of all knowledge. What exists when nothing else does. There are 3 keys to Heaven and death is not a ticket or a requirement. The keys, when all working simultaneously and complete will open the door to Heaven. They are: Forgiveness of everyone for everything always no matter what. Silence of the mind, blankness.. nothing you know is correct so everything that comes to mind is wrongness. Surrender.. You must surrender who you think you are, everything you think you know in exchange for the Truth. Forgiveness, Silence, Surrender - These are the works I refer to in the bible. It is our responsibility to do these things to return to Heaven, many will find this out the long and hard way. I am not the only one who has returned. Mary Magdeline and Mary, Mother of Jesus are also alive today. Others are as well I'm sure, but God has not brought them to me yet. We are here attempting to prevent the apocalypse which will trigger if communism manages to take over the world. They thought they could kill me, HA the fools, now they burn and are still burning, they have been transformed into demons over time. I must also say that forgiveness does nothing for the ones you are forgiving, it is only for yourself because you cannot take a single shred of judgement to Heaven. It is only to correct yourself. That's why I was so hardcore about it, I was trying to enter Heaven before death. That's a big thing that people don't seem to understand, they think that forgiveness is a gift that you give to someone, but it is only to erase your own flaws and bring you closer to perfection. When you fear God that is a sign you are on the right path, Heaven is on the other side of that fear. Psalm 111:10

Recent studies of the Dead Sea Scrolls indicate that Joseph, also a descendant of David, was a widowed man with children. Called by the Rabbis of the temple and chosen to be the husband of Mary. The newer thinking is that this James, son of Joseph, is the half brother of Jesus. Your thoughts possibly on this.
@josephlozano59353 жыл бұрын
This I can accept because it keeps Mary's role intact as being of service to the Father who not only chose her but remained with her through Jesus' birth and as He grew. Becoming the mother of Joseph's children then becomes the forerunner of Mary as the mother of the early Church. As she encouraged Jesus' first steps and words...she encouraged the Apostles' first steps and words as well. An encouragement that only a mother can give.

As post-modern Christians perhaps we are arguing about a degree of specificity that would not have bothered either Jesus or His relatives, neighbors in Nazareth, & disciples--not to mention Paul. Even the modern Hebrew word for brother (ach) as well as presumably the first-century Aramaic one, which I admit I haven't studied, doesn't distinguish between brothers, half-brothers, & cousins as modern English does, so it would be hard to distinguish the exact familial relationship between Jesus & James by reading the original text even if it was written in Greek if it was written by someone whose first language was Aramaic or by someone who was constantly shifting between writing & speaking in Aramaic & Greek. Thus, Paul writes that he spent 15 days with James, the brother of Jesus, who was head of the Jerusalem church. Similarly, the Hebrew word "yad" doesn't distinguish between the palm & wrist of the hand. The Shroud of Turin, however, shows the nails piercing the wrist rather than the palm of the hand. Whatever the actual genetic relationship (or lack thereof) that Jesus & James shared, they obviously regarded each other as "brothers". For the rest of us, we'll have to wait for the "sweet by and by" before we know their exact familial relationship, but in the meanwhile our faith whether we are Protestant, Roman Catholic, or Greek Orthodox doesn't depend upon it. Meanwhile, we're all brothers & sisters in Christ.

I can't quite fathom how Mary was confused at all... considering the virgin birth of Christ. How could she NOT know? Okay... perhaps she had questions and doubts (understandable) - but there was one thing she knew for sure that ONLY she could know - the fact of the virgin birth. By the time all of this was written down I'd guess they all had the benefit of hindsight... but hadn't the virgin birth of the Messiah been predicted/prophesied for decades at this point? centuries even? So how is it possible that Mary had any doubts at all unless... UNLESS... she had reason to doubt - but suggesting such would be SACRILEDGE wouldn't it? She HAD to know... now maybe she didn't know how to deal with it... how to explain it... how to work it into the family dynamics and explain it to her other children... but she HAD to know.

@kornelia862710 ай бұрын
@@platzhirsch4275 If you listen to James Tabor its not so clear that the early apóstoles were jews. Jesús was called Nazareen, and the Nazareens were a subgroup of the Essenes. Jesús grew up with the Essenes. But the Essenes lived seperated of the other communities which called themselves Jews. The Pharisees and Saducees. The false people of God who turned their face against Gods laws and killed the innocent and good Jesus. The Messenger. Beside this, the disciple of disciples was Maria Magdalena according to the Catholic Church (since the 22nd of July 2016..Ironcally formerly known as the whore...) And women in position of teachers were forbidden in jewish communities. Wasn't it Paul who was jealous of her, because Jesus praised and kissed her more often? He was jealous, but they never refused her between them because she was a woman. Jesús called these jewish laws an attack on humanity. Thats why these greedy Jews from back then killed him. The Romans did not want to kill him. Jesús did not want to accept any religion. Because religion means exclusion of others and this was not what he believed. He believed in inclusion of everyone. Children, women, poor and ill, absolutely everyone. Unfortunately the Catholic Church still insists that we will co e to God only through the Church itself, but it is actually only Jesús message through which we come closer to God. Never through the Church as the churches are for men, but mens heart is for God. Thats why we need rather our hearts rightly functioning in the right beat as churches. Jesús said exactly that we do not need churches or temples and that everywhere is Gods church were people gather together in his, Gods Name. Jews thought back then that they are better than everyone else. In their Talmud is still written Kill All Gentiles...what refers nowadays to all who are not Jews. But also the Jews compiled their first versión of their Talmud in the 5th century. Before that, the title Rabbi ment just teacher. It has been used in aramaic and hebrew simply for a teacher. And not all hebrews nor aramaic people were jews back then and not today. Jesús broke with Judaism because they did not follow the law of God. The concept of religion is not for real Christians. Its just too small and restricted. You can not restrict light once you open the box...

You raise many interesting questions about what was and what happened…. Most of these questions are answered in God’s last message to humans…. The Quran tells us about how Mary was conceived and how she was dedicated to the temple… how Jesus spoke at birth and the message and purpose he was sent with…. His family had no doubt about him… it tells how preached the oneness of God and how God protected him from crucifixion, and how God raised him to heaven, and how God will send him down again… and how Jews and Christians will know he is only a messenger from God like all previous messengers. The Quran tells you the truth about Jesus …. The truth that has neither been changed nor hidden since it was first revealed. The Quran is still recited in its original language and nothing of it has changed since its revelation was completed. I advise you to read it and you shall find all the missing pieces of the puzzle that Christians have been desperately looking for….

You are mistaken…Jesus does not have ANY other biological siblings. Mary WAS and IS the immaculate conception and Blessed Virgin. This was accepted for many years until protestants changed the words and their meaning. If Jesus had siblings there would be more direct mention of them. NO no no. Listen to Father Chris Alar Explaining the Faith. Neither Joseph or Mary had other Children. Only Jesus.

On the Cross Jesus said to John, his beloved disciple “this is your mother”….if he had siblings he would have no reason to have John care for her. It was also symbolic that Jesus wanted Mary to be mother to all of His people. If you ask her in your heart to give you the same love SHE has for Jesus, she will. She is a servant of God, a teacher and mother to all. She is not God, has no powers but can intercede for us. Because she is pure without sin (as God would not have His son conceived and born of sin) her prayers and intercession are powerful. Our Lady is humble and loving and only wants people to love her Son, to bring them to him. And believe me, she has changed many atheists and protestants and one day we’ll all return to the on true church. AMEN.

All that you have written is not required by the Roman Catholic Church to be believed. You must believe in God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that is all that is required.

@@thomaswayneward have you heard of the Divine Mercy? This is a required feast day in the church. St. Faustina. Jesus gives us these saints to show us by example how to live. To be true catholic, the Saints, fathers of the church who actually compiled the first Bible that all Christian self formed religions use (except they removed some books), and the Blessed Virgin and their importance and role in serving Jesus is to be embraced. They are graces from God. Take a peek at the video of Father Ripperger and the 7 sorrows of Our Lady.

Before the crucifixion of Jesus? No of course not
@richardmclaughlin8345 Жыл бұрын
@@DefenderOfChrist_ I'm sorry, I don't understand your reply. Did you mean "Before the Crucifixion, James, of course not"? Regardless, I understand your confusion. When 99.999% of the human race has said one thing, and one person says another, well you do the math. Anyway, nevertheless, James is a pre-Crucifixion epistle. The lack of any hint of the Crucifixion or it's consequences demands that the Crucifixion hadn't happened yet. Since the Resurrection is the only thing worth talking about since it happened, it is UnScriptural to think that God would inspire a letter about a believers Salvation/relationship with Him without mentioning the only remaining way to do that. Otherwise you end up with convoluted mishmash where "the Law" is actually a synonym for Grace. With all due respect my opinion or your opinion does not matter, James is a pre Crucifixion epistle.

@@richardmclaughlin8345 you do know that James cursed Jesus while he was alive right? Mark 3:21 non of his family believed him before after his Death then they came to belief I have heard about The Epistle of James being from 35 AD 35 AD is still 2 years after the crucifixion so of course not before James came to believe his brother is the Messiah and in the end died for that belief then he was killed in 62 AD

@@DefenderOfChrist_ The general consensus of the way his 'family' responded was sympathy, thinking that Jesus was saying things so naturally and supernaturally off base they couldn't possibly be true. So 'cursing or cursed' is a little bit exaggerated. Now what any of this has to do with one of the disciples named James writing the Epistle before the Crucifixion happened, I don't know.
