This macine is a beast. I bought this over several others. I have had zero issues. Once I calibrated the steps, it's just done nothing but put out quality parts. I've cut wood, aluminum, brass and even carved on coins.

The 1.5 spindle from Anolex is i bit more than I wanted to spend vs just adding a higher outbut router but I sure am glad that I chose the Anolex one. For those of you out there in question...you cant go wrong with the Anolex versions and an added bonus...super quiet even at 24000 rpms. Thanks for the demo video.

Hello James, I understand the reason for these videos and I actually find some value in them - they allow me to gain better feel for the quality of different machines that rarely come with a reputation (good or bad) and it's impossible to get any insight just from pictures and amazon reviews. I wonder, however, whether its within your capacity to put in some more contextual info - i.e. compare the tools with the other machines you reviewed?

Need some clampage on the back of the aluminum part and / or some double side tape to keep the part from vibrating TIP : modeling clay is used in machining to keep down vibration so put under the part of the excess that will be vibrating

Which cnc machine do you recommend for my first? my budget is under $1000. I currently do wood working and would like to expand my horizon with adding a cnc machine.

Could someone quickly explain what features makes this superior over its competitors?
@JamesBiggar7 ай бұрын
Superior to some. The fixed gantry and dual linear rails on all axes make it very rigid, suitable for machining metal. Aluminum/copper/brass with the stock spindle, and steel with the 1.5 kW upgrade.

Would you recommend this machine over Genmitsu PROVerXL 4030 V2 (if building volume is not an issue)? Thank you.
@JamesBiggar7 ай бұрын
Both great machines. Solid, work flawlessly. Equally impressive imo. But I think the linear rails on this machine won't wear and affect rigidity like the rollers on the Genmitsu. They're not cheap v wheels, but the bearings and wheels will wear down and cause axial movement over time like any roller bearing. If Genmitsu switched to linear rails, it would be a superior machine.

Every time it hits a limit switch it crashes the machine. Any ideas? Also in Easel it cuts about 1/8” above the piece.
@JamesBiggar2 ай бұрын
Check connections first (be sure no connector pins are bent). If connections are fine and none of the limit switches are working and you're setting your z offset properly then it sounds like you have a controller issue. Not something I can diagnose beyond that for you, unfortunately. Contact Anolex tech support: support@anolexcnc.com

@@JamesBiggar Thanks! The limit switches work, at least the spindle doesn’t keep trying to move but rather the controls just go dead. I’ll email Anolex. The Anolex 3020 is really solid and heavy, too. it’s been a champ cutting everything I’ve thrown at it and I couldn’t be more impressed.

Would this cnc cut spur gears?
@JamesBiggar7 ай бұрын
Slowly in aluminum with the stock spindle. Should be able to do steel with the 1.5kW upgrade. But I think spur gears and metal gears in general are made with a shaper.
@dav1dbone7 ай бұрын
@@JamesBiggar Yeah thanks, I'm considering getting a CNC, I agree, gears are normally done on a shaper or broached on a lathe/dividing head etc, I reckon for the accuracy I need that CNC would suffice, it's for a hub motor(s) for electric bike. One motor I already installed steel gears, although I have two others varieties that have "non-common" internal gears. Also been bitten by the 3D printing bug, I know I would make much use from a CNC.

My machines spindle does not seem to be spinning very fast! Nowhere near as fast as what seems like in the video
@JamesBiggar7 ай бұрын
If mine 'seems' to spin faster, that's probably because the sound frequency is higher from speeding up the video for the sake of time. This is a very quiet machine compared to others. I have 3d printers that are louder. Run similar tests that I did. If it bogs down when using any of the settings that I used in Easel for ex, then you likely have a problem. Make sure you set the machine up in the software properly, specifically the spindle speed (not just in the cut settings - it needs to be done in machine settings as well). If the machine doesn't cut well at reasonable feed rates, then use a $20 tachometer from your local tool supply store to check the spindle rpm. Should be maxed out at around 10,000 rpm.
