Despite his lack of education, which he often cites, and was the source of many of his problems, there was a very smart man there in more ways than one!⚡️🙏

A great person, his great life was really all about the show. A joyful entertainer, he can only speak the truth about the decline of the individual performer. By this time, the engineers and producers had been in almost complete control for about ten years. In the Sixties there were three major camps in R&B: The Atlantic gang, including Stax, Volt, etc....Motown (a few great artists and a whole lot of fluff).......and James Brown, carrying the load, always against the grain. A great original, on the road and in complete charge. The last of the great R&B individuals and stage performers.

I’m not a James brown hater, but he was actually a very bad person. I like his music, but he was a woman beater.
@CastanedaCrew46 ай бұрын
@@___________________191I would challenge you to look at where he came from and the time period he came from and find many men who weren’t woman beaters. James was a very complicated man. As Genius’s are bound to be, and someone who grew up in the backwoods of Georgia and in a whorehouse with no mother or father are bound to be. James was a product of his environment. Does that mean it was right. No. He himself acknowledged his faults and apologized to his wives and children, for his behavior before he died. I myself would never lay a hand on a woman, unless absolutely need be in a life or death situation, but I do understand and have a full perspective on James and his life. And I respect him both as an artists and a human being.
@VinVonVoom3 ай бұрын
I think the fact he preached to respect and appreciate women even if he wasn't himself goes a long way. In his private life he would often tell those around him to never put your hands on a woman like he does. He was very self aware about his own demons. While this is speculative I also think James was very autistic and part of why he acted the way he did (not all autistic people are violent obviously but it can cause it under certain circumstances very similar to the ones that lead to violence in James' life). It would be difficult for me to call James a great person but it would be hard for me to call him a terrible person as well.

I was fortunate enough to see Mr. Brown 3 different times. The last was the September before he passed on Christmas Day. His performance was so incredible that September, it was hard to believe that he died of natural health conditions only a few months later. The only person that I’ve seen that put on an “experience” of a concert in a similar way, was Prince.

Think about this. James Brown wasn't just labeled Godfather of Soul. But he was pretty much the first one to do what I would call modern rap which became what we know today as Hip Hop. And don't forget the energetic performances on stage. Without James Brown, there would be no... Michael Jackson Prince Mc Hammer 2 Pac Ice Cube Usher Chris Brown The Weeknd Justin TImberlake And many more....
